$20 each. Limit 3 of each variant on first pass through the line. Sounds like we've got enough to give ~240 people their full share. If there's any left we will let folks come back through the line.

I ran into Steven last night at OHB's Station. He's absolutely stoked about the release and had great things to say about each variant. Last time I saw that look on his face he was talking about the Omega Point release. This should be special!

Very much looking forward to this but I do have a suggestion.

This is the first time that Olde Hickory will be releasing four beers at once. In the past, the beers being released were not available on tap during the bottle share the night before. Not that big of an issue as you could get them on tap the next day and drive home with limited impact from the alcohol. With four beers being released, we are talking about a different situation. For those of us who want to try all four, we are looking at consuming a potentially dangerous level of alcohol before making the drive home.

Might I recommend either putting them on tap during the bottle share the night before and/or offering smaller pours following the release.

Alternatively, I'm sure you could find a kind soul willing to split pours with you. With the way they do tokens, creating different sized pours could be a bit of work (though certainly not impossible).

Coming down from RVA with a few friends, and we will be splitting pours (happy to share!). As we get closer, happy to help out with bringing down any Veil cans released the week or two prior, if anyone has any interest.

On another note, I did find it interesting how a band does not guarantee you an allotment. Never been to OH before, but seems like this could be an easy way for line cutters to show up late, grab a wristband, and hop in line with their friends.

The difference between a Veil release and an Olde Hickory release is that the bar is not open while you wait in line. As a result, there is less milling around and people are generally aware of their position in the line. At one recent release there was one line cutter who was a problem but otherwise it has been quite orderly.

We have thought of this, and we will be offering the beers as either 12oz pours or as 6oz flights. We do want everyone to be safe and enjoy the beers and friends. Cheers!

The band DOES guarantee your allotment, it does not however save your place in line.

Sorry for clarification, If I get a band and then leave line and come back later in the day after the line has gone, say after I have tasted everything, I am still guaranteed a possible 3 of each?

    I understand its not unlimited.

This might be getting a little complicated. The band insures that we have enough beer for those who are first come get served first. The bands will have some sort of serial number on them, but that is not important. To speed things up we will have a couple guys walking the line with a hand full of bands each and they will be banding people as they walk down the line. We don't want the line shifting as people try to get in some sort of numerical order. It really doesn't matter where you are in line as long as you get a band.

The band also insures that line cutters will not get served first. We will start at the beginning of the line and when we have run through all our bands, that's it. If someone shows up at 10 and tries to cut in line, they will not have a band and will not be sold beer.

Now, that said, we will assume that the last one through the door with a band is the last one who got banded. And if there is beer left over, we will allow people in line with out bands to come through first come first served. This is uber limited stuff and we expect the sale to be completed in about 90 minutes. If you get a band at 8am and go for lunch and come back at 12 you might be out of luck. Say in line.

When the sale starts at 9am you will enter the building through one doorway, pay for your bottles, walk through another room and pick up bottles, walk through another door into the brewery. You can then leave the brewery and put you bottles in your car; and then re-enter the brewery through another set of doors where you can buy pours or flights of the Spectrum.

This way the line keeps moving and folks who have gotten their bottles can relax and chill in the brewery around the tasting room and enjoy the beers and friends.

This is the same system we've used for all our releases and it's worked very well. We hope everyone has a good time!

    Cheers!
    Steven

    Thank you for the clarification!

    I have more question:

Does the number of wristbands allotted for this release assume that each wristband (person) will purchase the full allotment of 12 bottles?

Example: I have a wristband and I'm #100 in line, I will still be able to purchase the full allotment of 3 bottles each of the 4 variants for a total of 12 bottles.

If the person ahead of me in line only purchases 4 bottles, one of each variant, the other 8 bottles will be leftover for the second round once everyone with wristbands has gone through the line.

    Did that make sense?

This clears it up thanks for the transparent.

One more question, are the bottles wax sealed like the old Event Horizon and Lindley Park (Event Horizon Spectrum 0.5)

Yes, We assume that everyone in line with a wristband will buy the full allotment. The allotment for the series is 3 bottles each, for a total of 12 bottles, or a full mixed case, (which is how we see most people will buy them). We will have mixed cases ready to go, so the line will move fast.

Of course, there will be some who do not want the whole allotment, or may not want any of one or the other. This is where those with out wrist bands will have the opportunity to buy. The folks who got wristbands and went through the sale can get back in line for a chance to get more.
