I'm assuming Monkish means their usual crowd, as in the type willing to wait several hours, hold BT verts at 7am, and put out lawn chairs at midnight.

what's considered a special release when everyone of their beers is a different name?

Maybe it's time for them to bring back some of the old faves. I'm looking at you Spock It.

It will be interesting to see if they continue to release beers under different labels and never bring back the oldies. I mean by now they must have made an IPA/DIPA with nearly the same hops but still labeled it as something new, no? I love the beer but some of them taste so similar that it seems the different labels just add a collector's aspect.

Saw that too. When I was there Saturday they said they were probably done with Saturday releases.

    Cheers,

I have heard very similar rumblings... apparently, some of the people that camp out all night and are drunk by 8am aren't the most considerate people - leave trash, annoy the neighbors, park where they aren't supposed to. Shocking, I know...

My guess is that they'll move the IPA releases to weekday releases announced an hour before opening just like the DIPA. The Saturday "releases" will probably be the pick-up and tapping of their special pre-sale bottles.

It's a great move if they do largely abandon the Saturday releases. As long as the beer still sells out (and it has), getting it in the hands of more of their (actual) regulars accomplishes the same thing without pissing off neighbors/authorities and eventually alienating your original customers.

Precisely. I live 5 miles from there and I just won't deal with the Saturday releases once people started camping out. Don't mind waiting for an hour or two, but people closing out the taproom on Friday and then just rolling into line on Friday night was a major turn off.

To their credit, they had most of the stuff on tap too so at least I'd get to try.
