Apparently I'm feeling the music I grew up on tonight. Feeling a buzz too with some o' that Navaja in the glass.

This batch is much more mellow than the first batch of it, which tasted like a Christmas tree.

Getting slight coffee on this. Good, but as way of comparison, Stone Mocha IPA was better.

Drinking this still, and really digging it. Interestingly (well, to me, anyway), of the multiple VA beers sent me by @gopens44, this is the only one brewed in a city I've been to (Williamsburg, when I was 16).
One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite musicians. I've always found the dreamy quality of this song very seductive.

I loved Stroh's as a kid! I hope to see it in Florida.

I'm not proud....but damn, was it f*cking fun. I'll forever be indebted to the local national who pulled me out of the fray, got me out of Dodge, and ultimately saved my career. Took that into account later on when I became judge and jury.

Good evening BA, hope everyone had a good Thursday. My saison finished fermentation earlier today, so good thing I turned up the temperature yesterday. Letting it come back to room temp now, and will probably bring my chamber into the 60's again and make more mead this weekend; still needs another week+ to clear/clean up before I keg the beer.

    Daily Reviews:

Italian Belgian-style pale ale. This was very good. Aromas and flavors of lemon, peach, pear, apple, pepper, clove, and light banana/bubblegum yeast; balanced wheat, biscuit, light honeyed malt; and a touch of herbal hops, with yeasty earthiness. Light hop bitterness and yeast spice on the finish. Medium bodied with nice bready wheat creaminess in the mouthfeel. Minimal dryness. Very well balanced between malt and yeast character; very flavorful and easy drinking. Really enjoyable and on point to style expectations. 3.78

This was awesome! Poor head retention and no lacing at all. Aromas and flavors of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, cinnamon, molasses, fudge, toasted dark bread, and chili peppers; with lighter notes of licorice, dark fruits, smoke, and charred grains; a bit herbal/earthy from spice. A bit of booziness is present in the aromas as it warms. Good amount of roast/char bitterness and some pepper/cinnamon spiciness on the finish. Full bodied; balanced creamy/slick and sticky/chalky roast/spice mouthfeel. Adequate carbonation for the ABV, maybe a bit too much. Light-moderate increasing roast/char dryness. Surprisingly mild alcohol warmth for as young as this is, in contrast with their BBA beers. Dangerously smooth. Very well balanced between malt and spice flavors. I definitely love it, would love to see this in 6 months to dial back the spices a bit. It's got all of the classic Weyerbacher stout flavors I expected with the molasses/dark fruit notes etc; quite bold but not overwhelming on spice. Good pepper presence with zero heat from them at all. Will be drinking more soon, definitely buying a full pack now. 4.17

This was a fantastic English IPA! Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, orange peel, peach, pear, pineapple, and light pepper/piney hop/yeast ester notes; with balanced vanilla, toasted oak, toffee, caramel, brown sugar, biscuit, and light nutty malts; herbal, floral, light grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/peppery hop bitterness and oak spice on the finish. Medium-full bodied; awesome creamy/silky mouthfeel, with some light hop stickiness as well. Lightly increasing dryness from spicy oak and sticky hops. This is very well balanced between hop, malt, and oak influenced flavors. Technically a DIPA now, they raised it to 8.2%, from 6.2% originally. I love this one a ton! Way more oak than I expected, but it is so complex! 4.25

Stroh's: "The only fire brewed beer in America." 2 for 1 at the NCO Club at Grissom AFB. Wow! I'm having non-drug induced flashbacks!:grimacing::grinning:

Can you give me something for that, Doc? :sunglasses:

I can be all judgey, I I was over there as an old-ish family man, so my Fasching experiences were not even PG-13. other than almost getting run over by a float in Mainz...
