To what ever unlucky person got stuck with me...I am insanely picky and will hate everything you send.

I just like beer. I mainly use RB (same username) and prefer beers that are new, but a good beer that I have had before is still delicious. Ideally would prefer things I can't get in Ottawa or across the river in Gatineau. Would love to try stuff from local breweries and if the choice is there I definitely enjoy Saison and APA/IPA the most right now. As the weather cools down also enjoy things in barrels, good stouts or RIS.

 

It looks like we're keeping hints & hauls in the initial thread for this round ... maybe migrate this over?

Well then... hint #1: The box will be delivered to a location that is near a 'conservative' mountain, and the use of mountain in the name is even more so 'conservative'. Interestingly enough it would seem every province has a 'mountain' named as such. (at least the 5 or so I checked)

Yes I drink lots and I do have styles I prefer over others, but am generally open to beers I cannot obtain or have tried before. That being said, styles I enjoy are RIS/Porters, Sours, Saisons, Ciders, Meads, and DIPAs. Really, any beer that is wonderfully flavourful while not overly bitter works. Of course beers I have had that I enjoyed are always welcomed too.

 

Hint#1 My box is headed west to the land of the abundant. Tricky as they are a full class brew hound. Luckily I chase beer like a country dog chases tires. I trade frequently with tickers (and non tickers) and can appreciate what they are looking for. I hope I can meet or exceed the bar. (Pun intended).

As for me, I'm good with whatever the sender likes and feels represents their tastes. Right now, I am interested in less hoppy beers. Saisons, sours and, extra points due to the season, strong stouts, BA never kilt nobody!! I usually say I'm into weird beers but I think the rest of the clan here are as well. For me, the most important thing is to meet another friend and share great hobby.

My only beer presence is on BA. Wants are up to date and WBAYD CAN can give you a good idea of what I've had. I have QC beers pretty much covered with a few regular trading partners but if it's worth drinking again I'm in.

As for me, I'm a sour fiend but enjoy most styles (barleywines and quads are a bit of a stretch). Mentioned in an earlier post but find me as Alex B. on Untappd by searching vandoc

 

I'm thrilled to enter the fray again. To my sender, I like beer. Period. The majority of what I've tried is logged here on BA - my Untappd presence is, well, untapped.

To my target, I will be shipping East. My box will be full of Alberta goodness with a sprinkling of east BC and west SK. It's Alberta Beer Week, so there are some interesting things floating around right now.

 

I see the hints are both in the initial thread & this one, so I'll give this thread a go!

My target is well east of my location and has a want list that I could probably meet 1/3 of, but that would take more than a couple of CANBIFs to do.

As far as what I like. Well, anything barrel aged, especially if I can cellar it for a time. Favorite styles are: Porters, Stouts and Saisons. I have consumed a huge number of sours in the past year and seem to always be coming up with new ones from Washington, Oregon and BC. I'm trying to slow down a bit on that style. It's fresh hop season so for the next few weeks there will be copious quantities to be consumed of fresh hopped pale ales and IPAs. I've also been known to make an east coast IPA run from Vermont to Maine (yeah I know, I live in BC), and I expect by the end of October, I'll have a fridge full of Alchemist brews, among a few others.

I'm most active on Untapped as Cellar_Dweller (Hal Hickey) and have a few wants & gots posted on BA

 

Going home to visit next week, but my box of hoppy beverages will be heading even further east.

 

My target is well west of me, but not quite as far west as I sent a box in the Spring round. I've already started to put some things together, but hoping that he posts here so I can try to tailor better.

To my sender, I'm pretty easy to please. Preferences similar to others for anything BA - whether RIS, porter or funky/wild stuff - lambics, sours, saisons and quality IPAs. Big ABVs are always welcome and I enjoy a solid cider from time to time too. Not really on the look out for pilsners or Belgian blondes (beer-wise at least). My wants list is admittedly ambitious. Untappd user name is the same as on here.

 

I tried Untappd once, but I'm on my computer more than my phone so just like Bunman3 my presence is, untapped on Untappd.

Being my first CANBIF I can only hope to meet the expectations of my target who is definitely East of me. The box is now full of (what I believe to be great) BC brews. I have already been through my Target's ENTIRE list of hads (database'd it so I didn't provide anything they may have already had, and also got a good indication of their likes - and definitely their dislikes) -

To my sender, I'm really diggin funky/wild (and weird flavour combos) as of late, of course lambics, sours, and barleywines - stouts though are usually my goto because that is what started by journey into the craft delisciousness. Of course anything with big ABV and like many others here on BA - I can appreciate just about any style - its beer! and I love beer!

 

My target has posted in this thread and lives a short drive from where I grew up.

For whomever is sending to me just another note - don't worry about wants, just yummy beer and maybe home canned good .

 

First of all,i would like to say I am thrilled to be part of my first CANBIF.

Hints : My target is west of me.I am doing my very best to throw in at least a couple of signature/hard to get beers even if that means going out of my way..You will be getting all local brews.

To my sender : I like pretty much all styles but do not care much for brown ales,irish red for instance.You can always refer to my profile page and wanted list for tips.Please keep in mind i like to experiment a lot so feel free to throw in a favorite of yours if you think it's off the beaten path.

My box will be heading east (surprise) to a province which I have shipped a CANBIF to in the past.

For me, im pretty open to all styles. Definitely enjoy IPAs, pales, stuff more on the bitter side, Stouts, anything exciting from your area. Mostly use BA for keeping track of what i've had but can also be found on untappd under mrdmbond

 

Uhhhh guys, I just went shopping and now have 25 hoppy beers in my fridge. Sh*t just got ridiculous over on the west coast

Oh ya, and my target appears to like IPAs. Phew!

 

I'm pretty easy to pick for. I'm open to pretty much any style, but I will say that I do like to have some beer that can last a bit, as I'm a bit slow drinking my way through the box. That being said, I always make sure to enjoy any IPAs right away. Best place to check my hads is on untappd under the same username (CaptainMurphy).

I am shipping out west, but not too far out west. You may be difficult to "shop" for as you've had quite a bit, but hopefully a couple of bottles I have picked up recently will be new to you!

 

My target has posted in this forum and is East of where I am. I had to google their location, but I should have an easier time filling their box with things they like and a couple of wants.

For the gracious lady or gentleman who is sending me a box, I have a few loves which you can probably guess, but I like any and every style of beer and I am not picky. I'm a mid-range ticker (boney on Untappd) but I'll enjoy a good beer a second or tenth time. Guaranteed whatever you send, I'll dig.

I work in a pathology lab, so if any one really wants an STD, I'm pretty sure good ol' boney can make it happen. Never has my tag been so appropriate.

 

A rainy Saturday led to some good beer shopping - my box will be rounded out by the middle of next week and sent shortly thereafter.

My target is in a place I visited briefly en route to play in the Quebec Tournoi Internationale Pee Wee in 1983. Early reconaissance suggests they will enjoy my Albertacentric assortment, including a Druid treat.

To my sender - anything you send my way will be appreciated and enjoyed. My go to styles are IPA and APA. I also love browns, porters, and stouts.
