After a Saturday without any beer (missed a Dark Lord 7 year vertical share at a friend's due to family commitments, and even though I went to a beer release, I had none), I'm starting my birthday properly.

Beating @Greywulfken to the "born today" list: I like how Mahatma Gandhi and Groucho Marx share the same birthday. Musically the choices include Proof, Gillian Welch, Mike Rutherford of Genesis and Mike & the Mechanics, Don McLean, and Tiffany, but I think I'll always post this video on this date because:
    1) this guy is so f'in great
    2) the haircut. Seriously, the haircut.

    Happy Sunday, advocates!

Morning BA's! Apple picking with the fam is on the agenda for today. What better way to start the day than with a big BA stout!

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! I have zero luck getting the Stone beers yesterday, but I still made it back with a lot more new beers for me to review.

    Beer this morning:

Amazing pale ale! Flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, peach, lemon/orange peel, and pine hops; with some cracker, bready, light honey malt; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/grassy bitterness. Light-medium body with a very crisp finish; moderate hop stickiness and light grainy malt in the mouthfeel. Super refreshing and very bright hop flavors. Just as amazing as I remember when I last had it 3 years ago. Only 6 week old can dating. One of my beer store owner friends gifted me this yesterday.

Awesome DIPA! Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, lemon/orange zest, citrus rind, and pine hops; with bready/light caramel malt sweetness; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine/citrus rind bitterness. Medium bodied; very sticky/resinous with some grainy creaminess in the mouthfeel. Increasingly drying resin finish. Been a long time since I last had this. This is the same beer as Summer Yulesmith, they rebranded it this year. Very juicy and resinous. Feels like Columbus, Centennial, and Amarillo; maybe even a bit of Chinook. Never seen a clone for it anywhere. Would grab again.

Amazing old ale! Just over 1.5 years old now, one of my all time favorites. Flavors of big caramel, toffee, brown sugar, toasted brown bread, and light nutty/roast malts; with balanced raisin, plum, fig, date, apple, and cherry fruitiness; with a touch of herbal/spicy hops. Lightly bitter finish. Full-ish bodied; very creamy and lightly slick/sticky mouthfeel. There are still unlimited 4 packs around here of this vintage, don’t even think I’ve seen 2016 for that matter. This beer hits prime time right around 2+ years of age for me, and its getting right around there now. Love it!

Been a long time since I had this, July 2015 can date. Awesome as usual! Flavors of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, caramel, molasses, and smoke/charred malt; with lighter notes of licorice, raisin, and plum fruitiness. Touch of herbal/spicy hops. Bittersweet balanced finish. Very full bodied creamy and lightly slick/sticky/chalky mouthfeel. Some light roast/char dryness balances the dense sweetness on the finish perfectly. Sometimes I wonder why I don’t buy this more often. It’s always available at a year+ on age to me, basically year round. Will buy again soon.

    Cheers

    Good morning,

Up early and football is on so its makes a morning beer a-ok. I've only ever had sours from Almanac but last week while at my local bottle shop I found this IPA and a Saison that I will be drinking in the near future. It's a decent brew. Lots of hoppy goodness but yet fairly mellow and not overly bitter. Not a "session" but I feel like I could drink 3 or 4 of these in a sitting.

    Cheers and Happy Sunday BAs
