I'm kind of bummed on all of the labels for this release, honestly. Forever Simcoe's is pretty cool, but the rest are a far cry from Other Half's usual labels.

It's literally what a Mylar bag looks like. What more could you want?

The labels always look a million times better in person, compared to the designer renderings on their Instagram posts.

It's fine. If someone looks in my fridge and doesn't pick the mylar bags because of the artwork, I won't complain.

Yup. OH does so well with hops, why do they keep adding fruit? I hated Topical - tried it in cans, on draft twice at various ages. All gross.

If anyone goes today close to opening and wouldn't mind posting what they have on tap it would be greatly appreciated. I got a late airport run to JFK and depending on the tap list wouldn't mind making the detour.

Thanks to @crowlcrowlcrowl I've now had a few OH beers. My god, every one has been good and I still have more to try yet. I had the All Citra Everything on Sunday, wow what a beer.

Could give 2 shits what the label looks like (they're usually all pretty great). Just care if the beer is good. Haven't had Mylar Bags yet but heard good things so looking forward to trying it

I haven't had it yet myself, but after reading this and other Mid-Atlantic brewery forums over the last two years, trust me, it's gonna SUCK compared to batch 1.

Okay? Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that other people don't, and just because they do straight up IPAs and IIPAs extremely well doesn't mean they shouldn't experiment.

I'm all for experimentation, but I'm of the opinion that Topical Depression was a flop.

Adding fruit to IPAs is treading in dangerous waters. It can either act as a terrific accent to the hops (ex. City Slickers, Debbie Downer, etc.), or it can completely overpower the hops to the point where it just tastes like fruit juice. This is why part of me remains skeptical regarding Grape Conversate.

    +1

I think 0 IBU IPAs in general is stupid as well. Had both OH and Veil's interpretations and was not impressed. I did get a good laugh out of all the Untappd checkins. "Amazing! Straight juice!"

It just seems like a gimmick more than anything.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I like some bitterness to my IPAs. It's why I prefer Other Half to Grimm.

Glad to hear this opined more often. Fruit in IPAs works well to balance, or as a counterpoint. But great breweries like Trillium and Tree House show you can get fruit juice flavor just with hops - anything extra just tastes artificial or forced.

Completely disagree on Veil's version. I had IdontwanttoBU and thought it was very, very good.

I enjoy the 0IBU beers. I ALSO enjoy IPAs with bitterness. Weird, right?
