I would try to get to trillium right around opening depending on what treehouse has it could go fairly fast and that drive is a b**ch you'll hit traffic leaving boston

But he shouldn't even go into Boston. Better to head to Canton.

Right. We are coming up from MD (and in from the West on I90) so plan is to hit Tree House at Open, then Canton Trillium.

I'm sure it's possible to drive and park close to Trillium's boston location, but I wouldn't want to do it.

Just FYI, heading north from Canton is no picnic either once commute time kicks in. If you aren't on your way before about 3:30 it might be easier to settle in and find some early dinner near Trillium and then head North after 6:00.

Have you decided on a start date (Sat vs Wed)? That could decide things a bit. If coming up on a saturday, I'd be in favor of TH, them Trillium, then camping out in MA overnight before proceeding to VT. But if coming up Wed, I'd adovcate hitting TH on the way up, skipping Trillium and heading straight to VT. There's enough breweries to hit in VT over the weekend that you wouldn't miss Trillium.

And as an aside, you could decide to take 87 in NY either up or back and hit some nice places (Suarez, Sloop, Plan Bee, Captain Lawrence).

We are starting on a Tuesday and staying with friends in the Woodstock, NY area. We plan on getting up early Wednesday and heading towards TH and then Trillium. Thursday up to VT, staying in a State Park near Alchemist. Prob go to Burlington first to check out Foam, Fiddlehead, bottleshops, etc. Friday - Alchemist, HF, hiking, Ben and Jerrys. Saturday - Alchemist again before we roll out.

Although, now that you mention it, the idea of being able to hit Trillium and then TH again on Saturday is VERY enticing (if we can make it happen).

Wed - TH > Burlington > State Park
Thurs - Alchemist > HF > Ben and Jerrys > hiking > State Park
Fri - Alchemist > Trillium > State Park in Boston (Salisbury? near the water)
    Sat - Trillium > TH > Woodstock
Sun - home to share my bounty with friends

I think we are on to something here folks. Double TH, Double Alchemist, Double Trillium.

I think your first paragraph is much more feasible than your second one. Couple small tweaks - I moved Alchemist ahead of Burlington on Thursday and recommend you find a camp right on Lake Champlain that night. Also eliminated Alchemist from Saturday so you can get down to TH with a better chance at cans and better selection of growlers - they tend to rip through kegs on Saturdays.

Wed - Woodstock > TH > Trillium > Camp in MA
Thu - MA > Alchemist > Burlington > Camp on Champlain
    Fri - Alchemist > HF > Hike > B&J's > Camp
    Sat - VT > TH > Woodstock

Quick note - There's probably no need to hit Trillium twice. They consistently have 3-5 hoppy options available in cans (1 case per person, per style) so you could conceivably walk away with more beer than you can carry without a dolly. Special releases (Soak series, for example) sell out same-day and are once every 2-3 months so I wouldn't count on one falling on your second day there.

I strongly disagree with this. North Beach is very small with crowded, close campsites and filled with party kids having loud fun all night. Malletts Bay campground has RV hookups, is still quite close to BTV and is way nicer all around.

Vermont is fabulous. Late Sept - early Oct may be a bit early for foliage, though you'll definitely see some. Just so you know.

I'm from Vermont, but I'm not so sure about this. When my family from the midwest comes out I always include the Flume Gorge in New Hampshire and York Beach in Maine. It's part of my Northern New England tour.

But what I would skip this time of year (and any other time for that matter) is f***ing Ben and Jerry's. I always get stuck taking out of town relatives and friends in foliage season and we end up waiting on line for an hour for the privilege of buying an expensive ice cream cone.

The Cabot Cheese outlet down the street is the way to go instead. Gotta love free samples of pretty much every cheese they make

Our Fall Foliage (Brewery Tour) was a huge success. Thanks to all who helped with their suggestions.

Breezed in and out of Tree House on Wed, snagging a full allotment of Haze and Alter Ego. They are a well oiled machine.

On to Trillium Canton, where I not only snagged a ridiculous amount of 6 different beers, but I was able to sample Plum Soak while my fiance walked the dog. Traffic was rough heading to the New Hampshire State Park (Bear Brook) but that was most likely my fault for running behind schedule.

After a nice hike in NH, we hit the road and pulled into Alchemist right at 4pm so we could park the RV in the lot. Great new building. Sampled Heady, Focal, and Crusher and snagged a bunch of cans (no Crusher but did get Broken Spoke). Lunch at Prohibition Pig and snagged a couple Foley Bros bottles from the shop across the street. Stayed 2 nights in Little River State Park in Waterbury. Great hiking trails. Because of the NE drought, the streams were very low which allowed us to let the dog swim a bunch. He was stoked.

Stopped at Foam Brewers in Burlington for a couple growler fills (and a taster). Beautiful views of Lake Champlain and a nice walk for the pup too. On to Beverage Warehouse in Winooski for a couple more bottles and then we headed to the ferry to head into Upstate New York.

All in all, a beautiful and memorable experience topped off with great NE beers.

    Cheers.
