Stone - Xocoveza 2016

This is a big reason (among many) that I love Stone. They have a great beer that people want more of, so they ramp up production. No artificial rarity to drive hype or making it difficult to track down. Looking forward to trying the 2016 version!

 

Several cases at my store in Ohio also. Picked up some enjoy by 10 31 also. And some Columbus Bodhi and Columbus creeper all at same time. Score!!!!!!

 

What did the case run you?

 

$80 ($20/each). Pretty painful.

 

Thanks for the link. I hope something just isn't updated as northwest Arkansas shows no availability and we probably consume as much stone up here as anywhere in the newly distributed state.

 

Loved this, my favorite "shelvie" beer last year. Ive been drinking about one every month, and I don't feel the flavors have muted in Any way. I still have 10 bottles left, will open up another one tomorrow.

 

Most places will get enough that there shouldn't be any crazy limits on it. I was able to walk in and buy three cases at my go-to shop last year.

 

I find it odd that they have "Beeradvocate 100" printed on the box... as it does not have a score of 100...

The Bros gave it 100 (which their reviews are actually a 4.74 and a 4.25, don't really see that as a 100). And maybe it did have a 100 when they had to design the box months ago. But I wouldn't be basing it off the Bros as they are just two of many. I'd call that semi false advertising.

Just something I noticed as a graphic designer and a the kind of thing i deal with all the time.

 

I still have a corny of a homebrew clone in my kegerator that I brewed early in the year. Cant wait to compare to this years 'real' version!

 

I'm excited to see this back. Still have some of last years bottles to compare and I even have a bomber if the original batch from 2014. I wonder how that's doing? Maybe I'll open it for Christmas this year.

 

I'm definitely looking forward to this again. It looks like it might hit St Louis tomorrow so that's great!

My store got 4 cases yesterday. I went in around 4pm. It hit the floor that day at 11am. All the cases/ six packs were gone. i was able to grab a single for $2 though. Ive never seen beer move so quick. The flying fish Porkroll porter did that too but that release was on the news.

 

My area says "we have no scheduled shipment yet." Does this mean that we may/may not get Xocoveza?

Possible, but unlikely. Give it a week or so and check back. There's good chance you'll get a different answer. New locations are being added frequently.

Opened up last year's bottle, today. It's still pretty darn good. The only thing that might be lacking is vanilla, but that was always the least prominent flavor.

Looking for '16

 

Seems like "more than least year" means 2 cases instead of 1 for a lot of stores in SNJ so far. And some places I called said they are holding it for a Black Friday release. Managed to get lucky and score a few 6ers yesterday. Wanted to clean them out, but didn't want to be that guy. Hopefully everyone finds some this year!

 

Norfolk TW had a medium sized pallet of it. Picked up a sixer for my wife. "I remember this!", she said.
