How was Vintage 2014? Did Cory give out any info on it?

Somehow I missed the pour of it. I was at the front of the line when they first started serving Bluet, then they put up the Vintage sign and never noticed. It was a Lambic though, predates Side Project.

I didn't hear any info, but the beer was excellent. Probably my favorite of the day, including Cantillon and everything else.

    Thank you!

So, I am finally ready to talk about that beer, as its been bottle conditioning for 13, actually close to 14 months now.

    Vintage 2014
Categorically, its a Lambic (however, I will not use that term as it wasnt produced in the Senne Valley). We are working on calling it Méthode Lambic (classic grist percentages, turbid mash, long boil, coolship inoculation, 100% spontaneously fermented in oak and aged on lees in the barrels, sugar was dosed at bottling, but no yeast was ever added, more than a year bottle conditioning - oude lambic).

So, this was from a coolship run in early 2014, blend of my 2 favorite barrels. 19 months in oak and now almost 14 months bottle conditioning. 375mL bottles, corked and capped.

This is the first release of what I have been working on for years, trying to get our authentic, traditionally inspired, spontaneous beer program turning out good beer. It has not always been successful, a lot of dumped barrels, but I think that I am now getting beers from these barrels that I feel represent the Side Project quality. In the long run, I would love to have a Méthode Gueuze release (ala Jester King) in the future when I have 3 years of superb spontaneous beers to blend.

I will eventually make a blog post to introduce this beer, but I wanted to give you all a heads up...

    Cheers,

Thanks for the info Cory! I made a mental note to never not try and get Zwanze tickets ever again. Seems like everyone had a blast.

Wow. Awesome. Sounds Amazing. Thanks for the info!

Hey Cory, Will you guys be doing a Memberhsip of sorts at the new brewery or will it stay how it has always been with a variety of release styles?

    Cheers.

I hope there's a membership. On the other hand I hope there isn't because I'm scared at the possible price.

I mean in all honesty I would pay just about anything to get in on it. Perennial at 300 is far and away worth it. I would pay that and more with out blinking.

I agree. I know I would do it no matter the price, so it doesn't really matter.

I was at SP for Zwanze and I'd have to agree that Vintage 2014 was one of my favorite beers. Can't wait for the release!

Nope, they tweeted the label today. Side Project generally mixes it up with how they release things so who knows. Just hoping I can get a bottle!

So for anyone complaining about price, there you have it. In the quest for the brewer's perfect vision of the beer, it isn't just the ingredients and time, but it is also a lot of dumped barrels to take into consideration.

Gonna peruse the trades and laugh at the ridiculous offers while really crying on the inside because I would have loved to try Cory's first "lambic". Must've been extremely limited. Any bets on when they post when they are out?

I don't think it's today only. It said To Go Only, today.

With that said, if they sell out it doesn't matter
