What beer are you drinking now? #1450

Committed to a child's birthday party later today, which I often find brutal when sans beers, but sneaking in a quick brewery trip and some bottles with friends afterward, so this helps. Cheers to @dszok for sending this beer my way; you're tops.

 

I was skeptical about this one (I hadn't even noticed that it was of the "Passion-fruit" variety when I picked it up), but it's absolutely delicious!

A warm, but rainy, Sunday.
Getting ready for some sports today. Tom is back, playing the Browns at 1, and the Red Sox try to stave off elimination at 4. I have confidence in Brady, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed on Buchholz.

Waiting for the Dish guy to come to install new equipment, doing laundry, and figured I would do a rare early beer; Brau Bros Moo Joos, and excellent regional milk oatmeal stout. Kind of breakfasty.

 

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! Already got my laundry done yesterday, so today is pretty free to relax. Need to do a bit of work on my job laptop to prepare for tomorrow though, but that's nothing stressful.

Beers this morning:

Delicious! Haven't had this is a while. Flavors of big grapefruit, orange zest, pine, caramel, raisin, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, and toasted oak. Moderate pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied; nicely creamy and sticky/resinous balance in the mouthfeel; a touch slick and silky from the barrel. Increasingly drying finish from resins. Maybe a bit better than I remember when I reviewed it, really tasty stuff!


Really nice hoppy amber ale. Flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, lemon/orange zest, light pepper, and pine hops; with balanced caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, and light toffee malts. Moderate pine/herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied; balanced malt creaminess and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel; touch of resins. Moderate dryness. They used some Australian hops for this one, so the hop profile is really nice. Really enjoyed this one.


Amazing as usual! Flavors of big pineapple, grapefruit, tangerine, peach, lemon/orange zest, and light mango/pine hops; with wheat/light honeyed malt balance; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine/grassy bitterness; balanced grainy malt and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate dryness; zero hop astringency. I need to buy this more often lately. I always forget how awesome it is. Juicy hop qualities.


Incredible as usual. Big flavors of dark chocolate, cocoa, espresso beans, fudge, caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, molasses, toasted dark bread, almond, and light smoke. Bittersweet roasted finish; full bodied creamy/silky mouthfeel and light chalky dryness. Super smooth and lightly warming finish. Glad that these are in cans now, much better price point and more accessible.
