I wanted to throw out there that the Cajun Cafe's Fall Craft Beer Fest is Saturday, Nov. 5. (I have no affiliation with Cajun Cafe, to be clear.) Owner Paul Unwin is a terrific BA and an even better person and he puts on a first-rate fest that provides a tremendous opportunity to try amazing beers from near and far.

I will be coming down to Tampa with a friend the 28th-31st of October. We want to hit up as many breweries as we can while there.

Are the breweries close to each other/ walking distance? We will not have a car so will be relying on taxis/uber to get around and don't know if it will cost a lot to get from place to place. Or is there any other public transportation options i should know about?

I will also be going to a Buccaneers game on the 30th any good beer at the stadium?

I generally suggest that people who have a few days here split up the area into regions: Tampa, south Pinellas (to include St Pete) and north Pinellas (to include Dunedin). It's easier that way logistics-wise.

Quick answer to public transportation: There is none worth talking about in this context. Ubering around Tampa is easy (for the time being, anyway; pray the county Public Transportation Commission gets its head out of its 19th-century ass). Same in St Pete. I honestly don't know about north Pinellas.

There's at least one craft-beer stand at RJ Stadium but I honestly can't remember where it is. Pro tip: Don't sleep on Tampa Bay Brewing's Reef Donkey APA. Good stuff!

If you don't mind walking, you can Uber to Cigar City at 11 am on game day, drink some beers there till noon or whatever and then hoof it up to the stadium. Or Uber from there!

There is a beer fest in Sarasota(45 mins south of Tampa) on the 29th. You can try a lot of different FL brews there without the run around.

Personally, I'd take hourglass off and replace with Bowigens and Ten 10. Also, a fantastic bottle/growler shop just opened in the Ivanhoe (unofficial craft beer) district called Gnarly Barley Bottle Shop and Tasting Bar.

I've gotten/seen a lot of recs for Ten10 lately, but you're the first to mention Bowigens. You're also the first to mention GB's, but they've only been open a week, so I look for that to change.

I'm driving thru Tampa next Friday around noon on my way north. I am going by CCB to pick up My El Cat beers and looking for a good lunch spot near by.

Orlando I think Ivanhoe is the best bet right now. You can hit Redlight Redlight / GB Bottle Shop / Thirsty Topher / Ten10 all within walking or quick Uber ride.

Strong call, @MJS08. Columbus Drive = Boliche Boulevard: a lotta good stuff along there. Alessi's isn't far and is close to another jumping-on point to 275 North.

If you wanna stay in the IMMEDIATE area, 1) there may (operative term: MAY) be a noon Friday food truck at CCB and/or 2) Whole Foods is essentially next door and they have a counter where you can eat and grab beers. Pretty sure they have Last Snow on tap now, for example.

A cup of Spanish Bean Soup and 1/2 pressed Cuban. And get wired with cafe con leche. I'm droolin'. And good ol' Alessi's, more excellence. And West Tampa Sandwich shop is on par, but at lunch time parking and squeezing in the door can be tedious. I'm not a big food truck guy, but from what I hear, I need to be. Cheers.

Today is the day we are making our escape from the kiddos and buzzing up to Tampa from ft Myers. Thanks for everyone's advice in this and the other South Atlantic threads to help us figure out a plan! We are going to hit CCB as soon as it opens at 11 and hopefully join a tour and then grab the pollo asado sandwich from Bodega (thanks @MHorridge !) and walk over to Cycle to finish out our day. If you see a 6'5' white guy with glasses and the BA required beard with his wife please stop by and say hi! My name is Dave. Cheers!

I've been told go to here many times. How does it compare with West Tampa Sandwich Shop, which is where I always go when I come to town.

Killer day. Wish I had more time in Tampa. CCB tour was worth doing and the citrus gose I had there was legit. @MHorridge was not screwing around with the Bodega pollo assada recommendation and the cuban was awesome from there as well. Maybe the surprise win for me was Green Bench across the street where we ate our sandwiches and the bartender but a flight together for me which was fantastic. The 1903 Berliner was So good I grabbed a growler for the road and we grabbed a few bottles of other sours as well. @MHorridge your name should be on their glass wall for a beer on us if you get over there anytime soon!! We walked down to Cycle and had a quick beer there but no flights made it tough to do more than 1 since we were getting pretty full at that point. Headed back to ft Myers now after a great day. Thanks for everyone's input!!!

Sounds like you had an amazing time!

I think it's cool Green Bench does that and I really appreciate you buying me a round. Thanks, and cheers!
