Truck Smashes Into Comrade Brewing

Damn trucks. I knew they were up to no good.

 

How in the actual fuck did it happen? I saw on FB but no word on what really went down...

 

This truck was parked on top of the island in the parking lot and was just hanging out there for at least 10 minutes. A white truck drove by and he floored it, hit the truck, drove through the bollard and crashed into the building. It moved the hard piped mash tun and hot liquor tank as well as the brew deck 4". The natural gas line was snapped at the burner as well as crushing the water line to the brew house. Damage is extensive

 

Crap. Please tell me he was arrested and you're taking his ass to court.

 

Crap. Please tell me you can resume brewing soon. Don't devote too much energy or resources to punishing the person, assuming it wasn't planned.

 

It would probably be less about punishing the guy and more about recouping the costs of damaged/lost product, lost revenue, and costs of repairs. Totally warranted.

Fair enough. But I'm assuming Comrade's insurance will talk to his auto insurance, and I thought he was wanting them to go after the guy personally, which seems too far. He might have been joking and I misread it, though the tone and angry smiley suggest otherwise. We can be passionate about beer without demanding passionate punishment on an individual, especially without knowing the whole story. If he was drunk. high, or otherwise compromised and driving, then he should be responsible, but I have a knee-jerk reaction against ruining someone's life out of spite.

 

???????? What the heck man! Hope this isn't a huge set back for you guys and that working with insurance on this goes as smooth as possible.

 

What in the actual ####? That is an extremely bizarre story. Sucks to hear about the damage, glad to hear no one was seriously injured (that we are aware of).

 

Sorry about the damage to the brewery. I hope someone's insurance will make you whole again.

 

Just this once you should brew up a huge batch of diacetyl-laden beer and make the driver drink all of it.

Crazy, sorry to hear that the brewery was affected because this jack off wanted to mess with some other truck. Hope he pays dearly and you all make it through okay. Would love to hear his excuse.

 

You're mistaking me for David. I'm not affiliated with comrade or anything. But I do believe people should be held accountable for their actions whether they were impaired in any way or not.

 

I'm thinking that throwing their ass into a dumpster might also be an excellent idea.
