Going up to WI with my wife and the in-laws on Oct. 14th. I plan on hitting the usual spots (New Glarus, Karben4, etc..). Is Tyranena worth the 30 minute trek east? Also, what should I keep an eye out for on the shelves? I obviously grab New Glarus and Central Waters whenever I'm up there. Does Capital have some good seasonals out right now? I'm a big German beer fan so I tend to grab whatever I see from them. What about Black Husky? Other notable WI breweries? Toppling Goliath bottles?

Tyranena is a nice brewery which frequently has a nice barrel aged beer or two on tap but if you're just in town for a short period of time I think it'd be better spent hitting up another bar/brewery in Madison. I'd recommend hitting up somewhere like Vintage Brewing over making the drive out to Tyranena; they have a much larger selection of interesting beers and have great food as well. Kinda like my recent trip out to Portland, de Garde may be awesome but it wasn't worth the drive when there were so many amazing breweries in town I hadn't tried yet.

Black Husky seems to have dried up a bit at the moment (likely due to the brewery move) but you might find some at the usual places that carry it (Steve's, Star) although anything you find might be on the older side. There are likely miscellaneous cans of TG around and Sol Hunter bottles are definitely still around (Steve's Junction still had a ton yesterday). Autumnal Fire from Capital should still be available.

I was in town recently and while I didn't visit Vintage directly my friend made sure I came home with some crowlers from them. The double IPA was fantastic and they are worth a visit. I sadly didn't end up visiting any breweries besides Karben 4 while I was in town.

Stop at Trixies for a growler/crowler.

You can't go wrong with any of Capital's Lagers, I'd look for some Octoberfest about now. Wisconsin Amber and Supper Club are good. Old Reliable from Wisconsin Brewing is a good lager also.

You might look for Lakefront and Sprecher also. Sprecher Special Amber and Black Bavarian are both worth having. Lakefront Riverwest Stein beer and East Side Dark are good too.

I loaded up. Grabbed several of Capital's lagers. Was told at Steve's Junction yesterday that they ran out of CW's BB Quad the night before. I chatted with an awesome dude there and he found me a 4 pack buried in the back. Super appreciative to that guy in case he posts on here. Found a bunch of Almanac sours, Pseudo Sue, Half Acre (saved me a trip to Chicago) and more. I will say that out of all of the beers I had on this go-round... Uff-Da was my favorite. Absolutely killer bock which seems to be underappreciated.

Thanks to everyone for the recommendations.

Lots of awesome folks at Steve's Junction but there is a solid chance it was @chazmcbro who helped you out.
