You guys are just so hipster, humble-bragging so hard about your extensive craft beer chops I don't know what to do with myself. I'm thinking we should start campaigning to put all the greater-than-300-bottle batch, non-whale beer drinking plebeians into concentration camps.

Let us please drag out this self-inflating dialogue about how much you're so over Dark Lord in a Dark Lord thread when you're yet again going to try your hardest, using dozens of devices with multiple browsers in each, to get tickets to Dark Lord Day. To its fullest extent. Please.:flushed:

I tried to buy tickets last year, but the page timed out. They went on sale at noon CST, and I had the page loaded up on 3 devices at 11am. I hit refresh the second 11:59 turned into 12:00, I'm assuming that was the mistake?

Can I load the page at 11am like I did, then wait for noon to hit purchase instead of refreshing at noon? I know a group of people who get tickets online every year, so there must be some secret...

Let's just say a sacrifice to the DL before the ticket site goes live goes a long way....

All things considered, whether or not people want bottles, it is still an amazing fest to attend. With last year's changes you are charged for the bottles regardless of whether you want them or not. So people may be over DL itself, but still love the fest.

I must say, I much prefer the actual beer itself to standing in 35-40* weather and non-stop rain for 12+ hours--especially with last year's taplist. I just want the ultra elite beer gladiators here to consider, even though it seems totally unfathomable, there are still people that go to Dark Lord Day for Dark Lord, and I think it's getting pretty obnoxiously repetitive that the same people year over year talk about how jaded and unimpressed they are with Dark Lord in the actual thread for the next Dark Lord Day, like it's such a privilege to bestow upon us the pleasure of hearing and reading that same old broken record for five months.

I'm a fan of the beer, and collecting a big vertical of it as well. Like I said previously, I have yet to attend DLD, and have been unsuccessful with purchasing tickets. I only live 1.4 miles from FFF, so I always get my hands on each year's DL via trades with friends or other BA's. As much as I love all of my more rare and sought-after BA beers in my cellar, I love looking at my 2010-2016 DL vertical even more

I really don't think there is. You get online when tickets go on sale, you go through the pain of waiting for pages to load, get tickets in your cart, etc. It's no different than trying to tickets to other sought after events (sports events, Hamilton, whatever). If you have never tried to get tickets to something of that nature before, I could see how it's a bit much, but you'll get the hang of it.

I mean I had it loaded up on 3 devices, hit refresh as soon as it turned noon, and all 3 devices tried reloading the page for 5-10 minutes, then was hit with 3 sold out pages. I'm guessing hitting refresh screwed me

    It didn't.

It's a game. You hit refresh. Sometimes you hit refresh again. Sometimes you do that 4-5 times.

Sometimes you get a ticket sometimes you don't

It's totally random. Mine was refreshing for 20-30 minutes before the page loaded and let me buy a group B ticket.

Fair enough, looks like I'll just do what I tried last year and hope for the best. Thanks!

Was it as bad as the MD ticket issues on BPT? People hours after it was "sold out" were able to get tickets from just constantly refreshing. I tried for 2.5 hours for that, but no luck. Then some guy posted in our group how he got up at 8am, checked the site just for kicks and was able to get a ticket. Super messed up, but oh well.

I think I got my set of DL tickets about 90 min after it started last year.

Tickets for "sold out" events always pop up on and off again following the initial slam as carts time out. People add tix from multiple browsers/devices, have everyone in a group add first, coordinate purchase later, etc.

I never even saw a ticket screen for MD, so not that bad. I remember people getting through pretty fast in this thread last year, whereas with MD everyone was just swearing at the screen for at least half an hour.

I think they were totally gone in about 2 hours, not 100% sure though.

I heard about those. Mine never loaded and I still got through. I was panic-clicking though because it didn't refresh until like 12:02, so maybe I got lucky.
