Bad Trader @DSho

You can also add me to the growing list of people he duped in to a trade. I was just about to start a "bad trader" thread about him and then saw this.

@DSho started a conversation with me on 10/8 stating that he saw my FT/ISO thread and wanted to work out a trade with me. After a few days of figuring out what we were going to trade we finally agreed to a trade on 10/11 which consisted of the following:

(1) 375ml bottle Weldwerks Barrel Aged Mexican Achromatic
(1) 32oz. crowler of Weldwerks Juicy Bits
(1) 32oz. crowler of Weldwerks Double Dry Hopped Juicy Bits
(1) 32oz. crowler of Fruity Bits (Pina Colada)
(4) 12oz. bottles Three Floyds Zombie Dust

for

(1) 750ml bottle of Cigar City Double Barrel Huna
(1) 22oz. bomber of Funky Buddha Last Snow
(1) 750ml bottle Angry Chair German Chocolate Cupcake Stout
(1) 750ml bottle Angry Chair Tiramisu Stout

We also agreed to not send any extras.

I noticed that he had no trade feedback so I asked him if it was his first trade. This was his response: "That looks perfect! Works for me......no this isn't my first trade...been around for a long time and I guess I'm still stuck in the old ways on BA...miss those days lol. If u go to my profile and look under info it has all my trade references and BIFS I've been apart of." He also has been a member of this site since 2011 so I trusted his response.

I then sent him a trade request which he accepted right away. We then sent each other our shipping info and phone numbers. We both agreed to ship on 10/12. I sent him the FedEx tracking number later that day. That was the last message from me that he has read. I have since sent him three more messages asking for a tracking number and explanation for his lack of communication. He hasn't read any of the messages and hasn't logged in to BA for over 4 days now.

I also shipped to a address in Longwood, FL. The name he gave me was Dave Shore. If anyone is interested I will also provide his phone number via private message to see if it is the same number he has provided to others.

I have 68 trades completed on BA. This is the first time I've been screwed over. I will have to be much more careful from now on.

 

Good call on sticking with your guns. If he is/was an honest experienced trader, he shouldn't have any issue shipping first.

I made a trade with a guy recently who hadn't traded under the new BA system, but had been around since the beginning of BA. I didn't want to, but I did ask him to ship first and he had no problem with it.

I'm really sorry for the OP! (and any others involved with this guy) Hope this works out amicably.

Doesn't make sense to think a guy who has been on BA for 5 years and pull this thievery.

 

I was kind of thinking the same as the both of you. Now there is a bad trader thread started that appears to be the same guy doing this to numerous BAs. It almost feels like he knew by offering a big bottle such as DBH for much less that people would be more inclined to jump on the trade and take the risk. It feels like the whole TG re-waxing fiasco where many of the bottles of KBBS and MD were going 1:1 with VR, or whatever it was at the time. The trader figures they can rope people into being ok with lack of feedback and recent trading because they know in their heads they're getting a killer deal for an extremely hard to get beer, at least I've seen in the past that DBH is hard as hell to obtain. If this person is the same one, and doing this, then it's complete bullshit and appears they have gotten quite a lot of people sadly.

Found a guy on facebook. I have mutual friends with him that live in or around Longwood, so I'm inclined to believe it's the same guy. Maybe you can message him on there, though I know he probably won't get it because of not being friends on it.

 

Same that he provided to me and @AJ721 as well.

 

@zam216 It looks like a lot of people on the other thread are saying they live in the area where this person was getting all of the shipments. Hopefully one of them is able to provide info, or track him down, to get to the bottom of this!

Yeah, I tried snooping, but not much to be found. One of the friends, however, is someone I work with. As soon as she gets back from lunch I was going to ask her about him.

 

Completely understand the frustration and disappointment. Don't let one person ruin your experience and fun in trading though. Sounds like a lot of people on the other thread are commenting about being close to him, and also knowing people he is friend's with on Facebook. Hopefully someone is able to get to the bottom of this and possibly some sort of resolution occurs. I feel like it is a scam, as it appears on the surface, but you never know. Just seeing this person offering extremely rare and valuable bottles for roughly the same stuff is making it look more and more like a bullshit scam, but I'm hoping there's a resolution somewhere.

If you want to share with the mods, that's fine...but the last thing we need is a public witch hunt that spirals out of control.

It looks like this guy is currently involved with a number of traders here.

 

Unfortunately, any info I get won't be till tomorrow. She's apparently at a training today. As soon as I know anything I'll post in here though.
