Had a few del Ducatos yesterday at The Italian Job pub in Chiswick. Expensive but really good, and quality service too.

Now in the Craft Beer Co Covent Garden:
    Weird Beard/Tiny Rebel Dirty Perle
Wiper and True Pale Ale Kiwi Lilt
    Redchurch Great Eastern IPA
    Blackjack Mo Mild Mo Problems

Now eyeing up Evil Twin I love you with my stout - an impy at £3 a half which is great value here.

It's been a while.. I've not been off the wagon, just lazy.

Anyway, IMBC over the weekend was a particular highlight of beeriness.

    My top 6:
Lervig - Sippin' Into Darkness. *Beer of the day*. Chocolate caramel vanilla. Smooth. Thick. Insane.
Verdant Brewing Co - Uto. Pretty special. Think this may have been my first DIBA. It might remain my best for a long time!
Wild Beer / IMBC - Strawblender. Fantastic light sour, brewed specially for the festival. Refreshing strawberry.
Cloudwater - Rum BA Imperial Stout. Thick, chewy, rummy. Ready for winter.
Cloudwater - DIPA V8. I think my favourite of the series. Heard a rumour it's just V6 & V7 mixed? However they did it, do more.
Wild Beer - Summer Blend 2016. Another really light, refreshing, tarty number. So drinkable.

Followed the day session by heading to Port Street beer house and having a Yellow Belly Sundae on cask... no comments needed... and then headed to Beermoth, got a bit silly and had a Lou Pepe Framboise (2012). Which was wholly inappropriate. Happy tears.

    Beer is good.

Scored some Fou Foune courtesy of an incredibly awesome work colleague. I'm not one for hype but it is bloomin' marvellous.

I wonder how often we've been in that place at the same time and didn't know it. I had the I Love You with My Stout there. Normally I love me some big imperial stout...especially at that price. But this was not so good IMHO. Ridiculously sweet, boozy...I couldn't finish the last 2 oz of the 10 oz pour.

Glad I opted not to go for it in the end then!

Local Bristol stuff this weekend :

    Dawkins Sorachi Ace (keg)
    Dawkins Easton Promise
    Dawkins Friese Greene
    Dawkins Foresters Black
    Dawkins Resolution (keg)
    Arbor Super Yakima

Easton Promise an interesting concept, lots of locals grew the hops in their back gardens etc. freshly picked and then green hopped at the brewery to produce the beer, Each person got some bottles, first taste etc. Great hop profile on the beer. Arbor from the bottle, a huge citrus hop DIPA, real sipper though due to the sweetness.

Local pub does cask take away so I got a quart of Siren Broken Dream for tonight (£4.10 - bargain). A bit flat since yesterday but tastes great.

Went into The Harp by Trafalgar Square and they had a lot of 5 Point still on from last nights event launching their Brick Lane Brown Ale. I had a pint of that, as well as one of their Railway Porter, both on cask, both really lovely.

Had a fantastic day out in Glasgow yesterday for Morton's League Cup semi-final against Aberdeen. the 12.15 kick-off was a bit of a 'mare, but we managed a wee carry out on the train on the way to Glasgow.
Ended up in a pub near Hampden at 11.05 and had 2 pints of Spaten, decent enough, and went to a pub after the game which had such a bad selection of beer I had a large glass of Shiraz.
Met Mrs. K in a pub in town later and had...
    Kruzovice - really nice pint,
West - German Pale Ale, enjoyed this beer, but didn't taste like a pale ale, more like a Pils,
Meantime - Chocolate Porter, fab as usual,
Stewart Brewery - Black IPA, best pint in this pub.

    Went home.

I think that West beer is their take on a kolsch with a bit more hops

Do you ever visit Clockwork when near Hampden? Their beers are always pretty variable

Me too...so I said fu@k it and went to the brewery on Saturday (I happened to be about 40 minutes away on other business). Alan was great. Offered me a glass of one of his golden ales, chatted for a it 20 minutes, and sold me 4 of the new reserve release (2014) and 2 of the 2012 release he happened to have in the back. I also replenished my supplies of the regular Good King Henry and bought a couple new beers he didn't have the last time I visited. Good day for me, sub-par day for the wife.

Went to Brewdog Manchester on Friday for the Collabfest and enjoyed the Siren Ten Dollar Shake, along with a few others, stouts from Fierce Beer (Black Flagship) and Brighton Bier (Hung Like a Gorse), and Howling Hops Raspberry Ripple Ice Cream - ok, thought it would be better.

Then after got the bus to Salford for the Independent Beer Festival. it was a good event, although we had a bit of difficulty locating it.

    There I had
Neptune Black Percula - good session stout to start with
Northern Alchemy Moroccan Spiced Mild, nice flavours
Elusive Love Action, raspberry and vanilla stout - nice, but not as strong tasting as it sounds.
Cheshire Brewhouse Caribbean Crossroads - way too much rum flavour for my tastes, I'm a whiskey man.
Torrside Barley Wine - awesome, had the bottled version at the brewery in the summer and just as good on cask.
Howard Town Ten, surprised to see a quad from Howard Town, it was pretty good actually.

Unfortunately my wife dropped her glass getting back off the train on the way back and it smashed, so we only have the pint glass.

We headed straight to Clockwork for opening time, however when we got there, there was a queue of about 200 Aberdeen fans waiting to get in, headed to The Beechwood instead.
Had the West in The Raven, it had a decent selection on tap and in bottles.

My mate's sister lives a minute away from the Kernel and she brought me a fresh Galaxy IPA. Mind blowing stuff, in fact one of the best beers I've ever had.

You can't go wrong with galaxy hopped beers imo

Tonight I have had Moorhouse Pendle Witches Brew -ok Tempest Unforgiven smoked rye - pretty good seeing as I'm not the biggest fan of smoked beers and Brave New World, always a very good IPA
