Another Piraat. But this is a Triple Hop. Was a bit much to careful with pouring, normally a Piraat can be served with foam up to the rim of the glass.

This triple hop is a bit like the Duvel Triple Hop, not in taste but in adding extra hop varieties to the normal beer. This triple is different every year, just like the Duvel Triple Hop. I understood that hops used are hops that are just 'available' at the moment. I like that idea. There can't be a thing like 'bad hops' ofcourse.

Late yesterday evening, had a Spotted Cow that I aeropressed with wild Strawberry Guava I picked on a hike from the day before. It made a decent beer, even better.

'Borned' last Monday and tasting more like straight up grapefruit juice with each one. Not a bad thing at all and obviously a giant departure from last year's batch. The sun is out and I'm taking advantage to put up a few more Halloween decorations outside. I fell way behind this year putting things up!

Tripel van de Garre looks interesting. Never heard of it till now. Their café in Brugge looks also great. Next time in Brugge I like to go there.

Working though my last case of Spotted Cow from my trip to Wisconsin in July. I'll be sad when its gone but I'll be back in Wisconsin in March and plan to come back to Ohio with a trunk full of beer...again.

 

Still on my Big Bear Black Stout kick. A little change from the usual coffee stout, but a little change, or in this case revival , is good right?! Cheers!



You know what goes surprisingly well with stouts? Crab cakes ! With a little hash scramble, lemon, and homemade hollandaise on the side (I know I'm no @joe1510 , but hey, good enough for me and the kiddo!)
