Short's Brewing Releases & Updates (2018)

Local store (Coldwater) got Sticky Icky Icky in today. Pleasant surprise on a Monday

 

Sticky bottled 10/10 and drinking amay za zing. Local shop got noticeably more than the first time it was brewed too. If this was year round in cans it wouldn't leave my fridge.
Can anyone speak on this years black cherry Porter? Curious how that is drinking. 2 of my favorite shorts beers released in the same month, loving it.

 

I really like Black Cherry Porter this year, much more cherry flavor than I remember.

 

Opened a Bourbon Huma last night, Bourbon is very present, almost as if you put 4-5 drips of straight bourbon in a regular huma.

If you only have one bottle, I would recommend letting it sit for a little while.

 

By no means am I an expert, but I do not think the bourbon notes will become less over time.

 

Reading through this thread (haven't been on in awhile) and saw that Superfluid wasn't on the release schedule and was BUMMED. Was going to post my displeasure but decided to wait until I read through the entire thread.

Then I see the DIPA variety pack and I'm like holy shit!

 

Bourbon notes definitely fall off over time in beer. In actual Bourbon not so much... ha-ha

 

I feel like it is less roasted bitterness than last year. I say that in a good way.

 

Oh, man have I missed Sticky. It's just as good as I remember it.

 

I've yet to see cherry porter, my usual shop get's their shipments of Short's on Thursday. Think I'll pass of Sticky Icky this year and use that money towards that variety pack, gotta get that pack!

come on guys, what is this shit? now Pineapple Pilsner is literally neck and neck with I Got 5 On It.

Do you really want another "Ann as the Nose on Plain's Face" Pale Ale in the lineup instead of the awesome-hungry sounding Pineapple Pilsner?

This is the only election that matters, make the right choice people.

I don't understand it myself. I get why Mule and Old Reliable are so far behind, but I don't get why 5 is running neck-and-neck. Short's already has a few good - to-great APAs available, and no doubt, 5 is "good." Personally would've preferred if they went with the more excellent Starshot APL (if you see it on tap, please get it. So good). So there shouldn't be a need for another APA without some hook to it. Are people that thirsty for APAs? C'mon, where's the pilsner love?

While the hop forward profile does have a sticky, dankness to it(which I really
like!), the malt base and finishing taste seems awful similar to Huma Lupa???

Just me or others agree???

 

Is the variety pack a 4 or 12 pack? I'm under the impression it's 4. Man with goodnight bodacious, cat grass, barrel huma ( which I'll try this weekend) and this variety pack, it's safe to say Shorts has had a banner year. We done Gents!

 

Hmmmm, I have some Huma at the in-laws and Sticky. May have to experiment. For science.

 

It's been a good 4 months since I've had a Huma but it is such a unique profile I'm pretty sure I remember it correctly.

I think I'll do the same - pick up a single of Huma tomorrow to compare, you know, for science (translated, "another excuse to buy more beer!!!!)
