Firestone XX

At least the base components are known. The photo of the potential makeup is on the Firestone Walker Instagram page as well. All the core elements are choice beers with the Weizen being the only really unknown (at least to me), but with the total number of Weizen barrels available relatively low, it should be only a small part of the blend. I'm looking forward to FW XX!

 

I've heard from a few locals in the know that Boulevard brewed and is aging at least some of the next Parabola release, along with some other beers. Take that as a rumor but it looks like foresight with the way that company is going. If Duval started their own distribution network they would be the gold standard on how to run a network of craft breweries. Really good people too, l got to wait on the Mortgat family once.

 

Chicago gets the BA box releases. Anyone know when XX or Parabajava go national for release? Was happy to pick up Helldorado recently

 

Parabajava has been brewery-only so far. I wish it would see distro though.

 

Oh ok gotcha didn't know that. We get all of the others. Maybe they'll send a few kegs our way eventually

 

I will definitely be looking for this one! Hopefully I'll be able to get at least one.

Per their Instagram post on the Venice Beach location, botles of XX available this Saturday. My question is, has the final blend even been announced?

XX Anniversary Ale bottle release at the Venice Brewery Store this Saturday, October 29th at noon! Limit four bottles of XX per person, $23.99 plus tax & CRV each. We'll also have it available on draft at the Propagator

 

250 barrels of:

Parabola / Aged in New Oak and Bourbon Barrels / 40% of Final Blend

Stickee Monkee / Aged in Bourbon and Brandy Barrels / 20% of Final Blend

Velvet Merkin / Aged in Bourbon Barrels / 17.5% of Final Blend

Bravo / Aged in Bourbon Barrels / 12.5% of Final Blend

Helldorado / Aged in Bourbon Barrels / 10% of Final Blend

I would have flipped the content of Merkin and Bravo myself, but looks like a really good blend.

 

19 and 18 have similar blends to this, being majority Parabola, second to Stickee Monkee, with Bravo/ Merkin/ Helldorado in the background.

Those were my two favorite vintages, so this should be no exception.

 

I was just thinking this same thought. It reminded me of 18, without the 4 beers they added 2-5% of. Very similar. Excited for XX. Speaking of 18, has anyone opened one lately?

 

Sounds like 19 with a splash of Helldorado. I'll have to snag 1. Blends are becoming popular of late. My favorite blend so far has been The Bruery Melange 14,so complex and tasty .

 

My exact thoughts. Merkin is just my least favorite of the FSW group.

 

its time for Merkin to go. Maybe get replaced by Bravo or PNC. Or maybe a series of Parabola variants.
