Wow, this is tasty and hot - Coast's "Boy King DIPA, with Dragon Cayenne Peppers" on CASK!!



Malt and sweet fruit nose, but hot pepper sauce up front and on exhale. Creamy medium mouthfeel. Underlying sweet caramel malt buoyes the pepperiness and the cask adds a fat texture. Quite interesting, delicious, and not for the faint of tongue!! I'm glad I've someone to share this beer (32 oz growler) with given its higher gravity (9.5%) and intense flavor. Nice! They had 2015 Blackbeerd on draft when I was there. Very solid stout.

Thanks very much, I will be sure to check Rose Red. That one wasn't on the list but is now. Went to the little De Struise store already. Picked up some Pannepots and a glass + a Mikkeller Vanilla Shake of all things!

 

Thanks, mang. They aren't as difficult to make as one would think. However, I am glad I made a practice run at them. There are a few things I can do to make them better. I can send you the recipe if you'd like.

Going back to the well for another Founders favorite. I remember when there was a little work involved obtaining this beer, now the stores are flooded with it. They're either making a lot more or the competition from all the new toys is taking it's toll. Perhaps a little of both? While I'm a fan of the juice bomb flavor of some newer ones, particularly Born Yesterday, there is a crisp, clean, spicy and earthy flavor to this that makes it so easy to drink.

I love going out to the dying hop bines looking for late season straggler cones. While they're beat up and dying a slow death, the smell is still amazing. I'll savor that in my memory banks until next year's crop.

 

Haven't tried the Limfjordsporter yet,
but better than the BG brewed at Lervig by the moment

 

Is ZD still good with that much age on it?

 

I think I liked #1 better from what I can remember. All good though. Cheers!
