Day 2 beer enjoyed last night due to work schedule today. Tons of bourbon barrel here. High abv without much heat. This is a really nice and smooth BA Stout. Lots of caramel and vanilla flavors as well. Once again @BartS crushed it. Firestone 19 which if you don't know is a blend of parabola, stickee monkee, bravo, and velvet merkin with 235 oak barrels. Amazing beer and a real pleasure to drink.
Forgot to post last night... Amazing day 1 from @beluga92 ! Not 1, but 2 wrapped cans. I instantly knew I was dealing with NE IPA's. The reveal... Olive wasn't nearly as excited as I was. Haze has been a long time want and definitely lived up to the hype. If that wasn't enough, 1b was one of the best trillium beers I've had.
Last night. Was getting bourbon as soon as I popped her top off. Tasted and was getting chocolate decided to let it warm. Then I got more dark fruits and couldn't figure out the taste it was leaving on my pallet. Reveal with candy Oh boy! Had to be the oakiness like whiskey. Thanks @Glustick . Girls went to town on those crawlers lol. Checking off another want
Jumping into day 2 with both feet.... unwrapped some Lemonheads from @OEB and popped the top on this 22oz beauty. Smell like an IPA. Looks like an IPA. Tastes like an IPA.
Day 2 - pours a dark red, cherry notes and aroma. Some delicious cherry sour beer. Pretty mild. Reminds me of the NG fruits.
Forgot to post this last night. Here's from Day #1: Swedish fish are one of my favorites. the beer had a very soft wax top and tasted like delicious fruit juice so I knew it had to be New Glarus. It didn't taste like raspberry tart and it wasn't a cherry bomb like Wisconsin Belgian Red so I guessed Serendipity. The tiny "treat" bottle was definitely some sort of fruit vodka (which the fiance will enjoy), but since I am not much of a vodka drinker I had no clue what kind of fruit or what kind of vodka it was. Turns out: I was right about the beer and the vodka was raspberry absolut! I love this beer and I love swedish fish so I was very happy! Thanks @hardysf My day 2 beer will have to come later tonight. I unfortunately have to chaperone a Halloween dance at my school until 8:30pm.
Love this idea. Fun to watch. But I'm a Twizzler man. Boo red vines. Nice @Greeny87 - loved BA and COV. Slight edge to coffee. I didn't see you there that day. (Not surprised with how many people were there)
Hey Bud! I went the next day to handshake tick with @SRBush1974 . I snagged a spare can of each off my Buddy.
My day 1 beer experience was great. Popped the cap and poured a delicious smelling stout. Smelled a lot of barrel on and gave it a taste and my nose doesnt lie. It was definitely barrel aged. The kids and I enjoyed the candy and i have to say it was a good pairing. The reveal, it was apple brandy noir! Trying out the Imgur here because photobucket is giving me a hard time. So bear with me Also, @JoeyIce3, you should have a new day 4 in a mailbox right now.
Yes sir I sure do... with traveling companions.. you didn't have to but, thanks.. I'm also having issues with photobucket
Day 2 thanks to @Elkevjoe Big barrel notes on the nose with a hint of cinnamon and vanilla. Taste follows with habanero heat on the back end... Having had this before, I knew it was BA Oro Negro, a favorite of mine! Had to enjoy in #properglassware and with the dark chocolate pretzel bar... Inspired me to make some chili and cheese nachos Thanks @Elkevjoe for the great beer and glassware. Looking forward to days 3-6!
That's their best beer. I had it again today on tap..... wow. Also, I have a soccer game tonight so my Day 2 beer will be revealed and opened when I get home. Sorry in advance for the blue balls. Speaking of blue balls, I think @Yourahoser is working a 15 hour day today after drinking his Day 1 beer.
Will need to catch up on the thread tomorrow at work! Opened this up a little while ago to a big aroma of booze and hops! Had a west coast vibe for sure, I was thinking something Alpine. Really dig it @SRBush1974
Totally new brewery for me, really enjoying this double IPA. Was worried about the draft beer jelly beans but they do taste great, more sweet and candy than beer. Gave a couple to my kids and they thought they tasted like cotton candy but looked like boogers!
