So, in another thread, someone said they thought that Pfriem was the best brewery in the NW. There was some dissent, so I thought, lets do a poll. But, there's probably more than 10 breweries that would get mentioned, so mention your nominee here, and after a week, I'll take the top 10 and start a poll. WA, OR, ID, and AK will be considered "NW" for this purpose.

    Sidenote:

Oregonlive is doing a poll for best brewery in Oregon... surprised at Ancestry, Ordinance, and Prodigal Son. Not casting any judgement, I'm just... surprised. But that's Olive beer polls for you I guess?

Tough decision, but I'll go with Breakside.

They have no system in place to keep people from closing their browser, clearing cookies, and voting again. Combine that with certain breweries encouraging their facebook fans to vote and you can see the end result...

Great Notion, I was there a couple of weeks ago and had Blueberry Muffin, Raspberry Bisou, Ripe IPA, Double Stack and Juice Jr.. All of them were very good, especially the Ripe IPA and Blueberry Muffin. That Blueberry Muffin sour is nuts. They also blended the Blueberry Muffin and Double Stack on the house which was also great and very nice of them to do for me.

Visited Great Notion a few weeks ago for the first time, family in tow, and loved it! Great beers, really good food, server was phenomenal with my 4 and 2 year old, they are deserving of all the praise they get, IMO. And that Double Stack!

Pfriem. Great beer-readily available seasonal and one offs- wide range of styles-clear bottled on date-great distribution I've had many a day old bottle. Also their lambics and barrel aged beers are priced nicely.

People can vote more than once ,,plus we have to understand 90% of beer drinkers..even craft beer drinkers are not "geeks".
They like their local microbrew more than anything.

Just once more, on November 8th. And please don't forget...

BTW, and though it will likely surprise no regular reader of this forum, my own vote is for Fremont. Their barrel-program (for big brews at least) is second to none, their FH game (especially w/ the introduction of F2F alongside CC) is as good as anybody's, and I personally find their standard and rotating offerings to be underrated. They suffer, more than anything, from their accessibility, and the fact that they've now all been around a while. As they continue to expand and explore new styles, with different kinds of fermentation, etc...I think they'll only get better and cover more of what others with those sorts of tastes are looking for as well.

When you throw in all the good works and the special commitment they have shown, in a variety of ways, towards the local community, sustainability, their employees, and the industry, then it becomes an even more obvious choice. For me, anyway. I may be romantic, but I think all that other stuff really matters, too.
