Jackie O's (2018)

Drinking a vanilla BBBM at the taproom now. They said they weren't sure how many are left, but guessed it was probably under 20.

 

Was just told it is gone at the brew pub for anyone curious, but the cheese curds are not

 

For anyone traveling this weekend: They were also out of woodburner and bb oil of Aphrodite at the pub on Friday afternoon.

 

Rolled to the brewery today and picked up the last bottle of VBM, but they still have bottles or regular. Woodburner, and Champion and oil so still tons of great beer left

 

I know several folks that were planning on going down from Cleveland tomorrow to get the vanilla and regular black maple. I know they aren't going now since vanilla sold out. That's too bad. They likely would have bought other brands, had lunch, etc.

I bet it would have lasted longer if it was sold at one location instead of two. I heard most people that went hit both locations. Oh well.

 

That's pretty common. If they have two locations, they're not going to limit bottle sales to one or the other. Jackie Os has been consistent with their bottle limits, pricing, etc. If you want something, don't show up late to the party. There's still plenty of very good beer available for sale.

I'm going down tomorrow to enjoy both on draft. My favorite release of the year.

 

Anyone have an idea how much Champion Ground was left yesterday?

I know the Vanilla is gone, but could still be worth a trip for regular Black Maple and Champion

 

That's their loss. Still a bunch of great bottles available and TONS of great beer on draft (including the vanilla maple). I would drive from Cleveland just for cheese curds and a pour of Oro.

 

Is there any BB Oil left at either location? Heading down Tuesday

 

@beace how many cases of BBBM are left...........Also, you guys killed at Shelton Brothers this weekend, everyone was impressed with your beers

Agreed. It's their loss. Which also translates to Jackie O's loss as well then.

 

Ugh, no vanilla? Was going to wait it out a week since BB Oro lasted so long and even coffee Oil. Wanted to go 11/5 but after all this driving for The Festival, and then heading to Dayton in a few more weeks, it's probably not going to happen now. Lucked out and got 2 regular BBBM at the mindblowingly weird Jungle Jims on the way home today, so that might cover me for now.

 

Don't think JackieO's lost out much at all, they just sold through several hundred rather expensive cases of beer very quickly. It's a tough balance pleasing customers who take off work to drive a couple hours to get there so they want more bottles to make it worth their time vs. limiting how much can be purchased so people don't think it's worth their time to drive there. This release was different compared to previous ones in how quickly it moved though and was probably unexpected. Coffee oil had a similar case count and lasted two weeks, which is the quickest I remember any 375 going. BB Oro was 6 weeks maybe, had a much higher case count but was still available at a case per person for that first weekend.

 

I'll make more next year for sure. This release was unexpected and different than others in the past. The only thing that changed was the amount of people that came. Multiple 6btl allotments between the locations is nothing new. Releases this year we're 16-32 bourbon barrels worth of product with some limited offerings, BBVBM/BBCOIL, only being 8-10 barrels. Next year we will double up on specialty and increase regular bourbon barrel offerings by quite a bit as well.
