Was wondering if there are any BAers out there that have buried their beer for aging? Any issues? Success story? I decided to bury a bunch of beer in the ground this Halloween in the middle of my hop yard and make a party out of it. So far have a nice group coming. Check out my pics and note that I am burying the coffin below the frost line. Coffin can hold up to 18-750 ml bottles

I should add that we are going to dig it up next Halloween but before we bury the beer we will do tasting notes and compare them when we open the beer next year.

Make sure you include a DFH Olde School BW in the coffin, since it specifically says on the bottle to go into the woods and bury it. Sounds like a fun time, and very cool coffin.

There was a thread about this a couple of years ago, poster met with some derision, said eff off and disappeared into a hole ! Good luck.

I guess it's not out yet this year, and tough to find bottles from last year. I have some older vintages, with 2013 being the most recent. It's already aged at this point, but if you can't find anything newer let me know.

I think my wife would love for me to take all my beers out of fridge and bury them forever!

A MI brewery (Saugatuck I think) is serving a beer right now at the fall beer festival that spent some of the year at the bottom of a lake.

We had an absolute blast on Sunday night! About 15 people showed up to bury about 24-30 bottles of beer. Pictures don't do it justice. Going to have to build a bigger coffin for next year and then we will have the added bonus of drinking the beer we buried and burying more. Everyone took turns throwing some dirt into the grave. Now a group of us are thinking about a special home-brew to bury next time and perhaps growing some of the ingredients on top of the grave this coming spring/summer.
