It is a required statement under TTB guidelines. Any time you add an "exotic" ingredient (defined as ingredients outside of the traditional malted cereal grains and hops) you must disclose the presence of those ingredients, and whether or not they are natural or artificial.

Since the 5Beans uses five different beans (cacao, romano, vanilla, coffee, and cardamon), and all of these ingredients are natural, we are required to list that on the label.

Just happened to get one this week from their web site, along with a "Mad Science" teku. Both very nice. Picked up some 5Beans yesterday at Total Wine, (they got 5 cases at Brandon), and one will go into the teku tonight.
Note: The 5Beans is available for online order. Use code 2792 and get $1 off each 4 pack, up to a total of 4 X 4 pack. The offer says for "Tampa area locations only", whatever that means. Brandon took mine online. St Pete, Clearwater? I dunno. That's good for any 4 or 6, or bombers 16 oz or larger priced at 6.99 or higher for all mentioned. Cheers!

@Sixpoint Did the coffee change from 4Beans to 5Beans? I didn't notice any Stumptown branding on the packaging.

The coffee did not change. We use the Finca El Injerto from Stumptown.

Had my first can of it last night. @Sixpoint great coffee flavor (not overly bitter) with an awesome smooth vanilla finish. Well done

Damn, I'll bet that was tasty. I've been saving my last 4Beans for this Holiday Season maybe I'll have that with a bourbon back :stuck_out_tongue:

I like my second take on it much better. Maybe it's the frame of mind, but I feel that two weeks since my first can has helped to tone the bitterness down a notch and I can enjoy the coffee favor better with a hint of sweetness even.

You're not alone in your assessment. Many of our fans of the Beans series think that the beer is best when aged properly several months or more!
