I'm kind of bored but I have been cooking with my son . We got some nice herbs. He got fresh bay leaves so I am going to make rice pudding with bay leaves. We just had the fresh marjoram I bought with mushrooms and pasta in cream sauce. I want to make lemon and marjoram on shrimp. But darn I am old and need a few days on cereal and salad or I will get larrrrrrge! Cheers BA's!

Roof Rack, a Vienna Style lager from Bent Paddle. Tasty! And pairs well with cold pizza.

It's not quite the Mexican chocolate I enjoyed growing up on the south side of Chicago, but damn good in it's own right. Happy Dia de los Muertos to all!

Happy Hump Day BA's. First off, looking forward to what will be a great World Series Game 7 finale, and second, great jobs on the glassware yesterday people! It's time for the Glass of the Day Awards!

    GotD:
With not one, but three outstanding submissions yesterday :grimacing:, this gold rimmed, beefy based, tub of a chalice gets the honors courtesy of @JamFuel . Cheers and congrats!
2nd: And another BA with multiple, all proper posts, @Zaphog for this Short's display. Pour a can into a can glass, kinda weird, but a bottle into a can...that just works! With a 4 on the Floor post (see what I did there drummers ?), cap, bottle, glass, and coaster...perfect.
3rd: And another for, you guessed it... @dcotom :grinning:! The human thesaurus delivers again with this crackled and slant bowled wine glass. Or was it reticulated and beveled :astonished::wink:?

Honorable mentions go out to @Salt-n-Beer for his unending supply of Andechs, er, I mean a beautiful gold embossed Erdinger Weiss glass, and to @jzeilinger for Hopus Krumpus, because it was fun to read next to each other . (I should mention that this Hopus glass has received a GotD previously by a certain "winged" BA :sunglasses:.)

Cheers everyone, and I will see you all soon!

    GotD.

    Happy Wednesday BAs

Ran down to Uinta Brewing to pick up a few beers and decided to hit the taproom for a pint. Having the Ales for ALS IPA. It's very fresh and full of citrus and a bit of pine. Excited about Uinta's limited release of their new Jack Rabbit Saison aged in local Beehive Distillery Gin Barrels. Per Uinta, Jack Rabbit is a dry crisp ale with a touch of spice gentle herbal notes and a bright fruity nose. Saving for Sunday to share with my brother in law.

    Cheers BAs

Thank you, thank you! The chalice was really nice to drink from, but heavy as fudge! Going to a new thrift store tomorrow, so I ain't done!

Would you please enlighten me about Uinta, and more importantly Utah? From what I understand, they are not allowed to serve beer over 4% abv, but can sell stronger beers packaged? How does this work at the brewery?

Another soon to be dead Harvest Ale on a warm November day. We're going to pay for this beautiful autumn weather we've been enjoying!

A beautiful day here in southern Maine. Too bad my golf game didn't live up to expectations. Then again, it's late in the season, so any golf at this time is a gift.
Post-round having AleSmith Speedway stout, Vietnamese coffee. Wow!

Home, finished the yard work I didn't get to this weekend. Decided to keep the high ABV theme going.

Reaching out for an Op & Top from De Molen while cooking. This 'Op & Top' is described on the label as American bitter-ish. Not to heavy on the alcohol (4,5%) and has a nice fresh bitter taste.
    Cheers!

That is correct nothing over 4% on tap but you can buy any of their stronger beers and drink from the bottle at the brewery, extremely odd I know! No real logic around it because either way you can load up on as much high point beer as you want at a bar or brewery just not on tap! (Silly and Odd) the 4 percent law has forced these breweries to attempt to master full flavored session beers and they do a fairly good job at it given the circumstances.

As far as Uinta goes I find it to be one of Utahs better craft breweries and their distribution to 35 states would suggest that too. They got a whole outdoorsy thing going on, earth wind and beer and craft their beers to go along with the states natural beauty. Salt Lake City is by no means a craft beer mecca and it likely never will be until a few things change but craft beer is alive and well there with the likes of Uinta, Epic, Squatters/Wasatch, Red Rock, Proper Brewing and 2Row etc etc.

I enjoy the SLC beer scene myself and hit it up as often as possible living just north in Idaho.

    Cheers @Lingenbrau

Wife and I are planning a San Diego Beercation hopefully sooner than later and I am excited about that!
