    Nabbed a case last night for 78 after tax and deposit. Might need to do a side by side between this years and last years as I found the 2016 to be a little more mellow fresh and less bourbon forward

    I agree with this. I have had this fresh for the past few years, and this year's version seems a bit watered down. Less sweet and a little less bourbon. Still great, but not quite as bold as in past years.

    Royal Liquors in San Jose. Also, K&L Wine Merchants in Redwood City just posted on Beer Menus.

    I did a tasting of BWB, CW BA scotch ale, and wulver. I would definitely say
    BWB>Wulver >central waters, but for the price difference of wulver to central waters stuff I would rather buy central waters

    This year was my first ever getting to try BB. My 4-pack was dated 9/22/16. It's glorious. I dare say that I enjoyed it more than KBS...

    I agree. KBS is a great beer, but I am finding that for my tastes many barrel aged stouts have to sacrifice some of my favorite stout characteristics (rich maltiness, dark fruit flavors, roasty finish) in order for the bourbon and barrel characters to shine. With scotch ales, I find the barrel more easily melds with, and compliments, the flavors of the base beer.
