2016 Black Note pt Deux

What's the limit?

 

3 4 packs. Spoke to the guy in the general store. He said they probably have enough to last til like 4 pm. I wouldn't be able to get there in time. I'm out

 

I've heard so much conflicting information today that this truly is a Black Note release haha.

 

I was there yesterday. Why Larry why?!

I even wore my BNSS shirt just in case!

 

Should be around the rest of the night, or most of it anyway. I'll be opening one tonight, I'll post my findings vs the first '16 batch, which I wasn't super blown away by. Hoping for more of the Double Cream Stout in the mix. First batch was definitely missing that creamy mouth feel that makes this beer so special IMO.

Better than the earlier batch, more depth, sweeter, and less bitter roast...its delicious

 

Agree, better than the last batch for sure. Much thicker/creamier MF. Perfect amount of Bourbon. I don't understand why people age this, as it's perfection right out of the gate. Very happy I drove down for this one!

 

I picked up 12 bottles today. My buddy and I didn't know anything about it. We walked ass backwards right into it.

I suspect they will still sell some tomorrow seeing how Sunday is the All Stouts Day party but that's just a guess on my part.

 

I don't age it for the sake of aging it. I just don't want to slam it all down in a week and then have to wait a year or two for the next batch.

For what it's worth, the last bottle of the 2014 batch that I had was still pretty damn good.

 

Anyone there right now to confirm any remaining?

 

I just got back from there. After being told earlier this afternoon that they would probably run out around 4 PM - I decided to skip it today. I then called around 5 PM to see if they would have it tomorrow - the guy said they got more and figured it would last through the night. So made the 2 hour journey and got my (3) 4-packs. I left around 9:45 PM and the guys in the general store informed me that they would have more tomorrow. Good luck to all.

I don't know if I am more surprised that they released more black note, or that it lasted more than a day on a weekend, or that this thread isn't crazy active.

 

The lack of FT/ISOs surprises me a bit.

 

Maybe people that would normally trade for it were able to get some because of abundance. And this is stout season starting up. Everyone is having releases all over the place. Just guesses on my part.

 

Lots more to go around today in case you were thinking of making the drive. 9 pallets from what I heard.
