Knowing my luck, KBBS will probably be released the weekend I already have plane tickets and plans with buddies in Pittsburgh

    Assassin and KBBS... package deal.

Praying that it's a taproom only sign up. People all over the USA (and world) got MD. Keep Assassin/KBBS to the general region at least.

Thats pretty egoistic. You have more rights because you happen to live there ?

I'm sure the Decorah business owners don't mind us out-of-towners showing up. I know my wife spent about a hundred bucks in small shops while I was at Mornin' Delight day this year. Food, hotels and gas purchases add up to a lot of money coming into a small town. So I don't think all of the locals are opposed to what a lottery brings to their community.

Selfishly, I agree. It's a 2.5-3 hour drive from me which is totally manageable for something like this. I'm also biased because I missed out on the MD release despite 3 computers up with separate internet connections and still couldn't get a ticket.

It's not egotistical & I agree, even though I'm not a local. I think it's great when breweries do silent, local releases that reward local, loyal customers. If every brewery adopted this model, there would be a lot less lousiness in the beer world.

I obviously can't speak for TG but it seems like they try to take care of locals with the silent SR-71 release which was also mentioned in the tweets last night. GI takes care of locals with Prop every year. It seems fair to all parties (in theory) to have one local release and open up the others to more people, but I suppose there's no magic pill to satisfy everyone all the time.

So did anyone hear what the winning bid was for last night's "Golden Ticket" auction?

$3,000.00. Includes bottle cost at the releases as well (1 KBBS).

I don't live in Decorah. I am over 3 hours away. People from multiple states will drive to the taproom to sign up for a lottery. So it will still bring in a ton of people to stimulate the local economy... probably more since they will have to visit TG twice (sign up and pick up).

And yes, I think I have more right to getting a TG stout over someone in Florida, Arizona, or Belgium because I buy there entire lineup of beer year round. I don't just fly in for a "whale". It's just my opinion and I'm sure people that don't live close to Iowa won't agree with me.
