I am an IMBIBE member and do get early entry at noon on Saturday, but my ticket does not have any specific time on it. It simply says "Saturday AM General Admission" but also says I get "1 hour early entry into the event".

And don't worry about FOMO - there is so much good beer to be had!! When they announce the medal winners Saturday in the early session you will see people running to those kegs, and that is the perfect time to just go through the Goose Island line again (and again).

I purchased a ticket from an IMBIBE member - if I just show up at the regular time/line will I be fine?

you better get you money back from him because those tickets are non transferrable

    the pre sale email states:

REMINDER: Selling, transferring, or trading your ticket with anyone else is prohibited. All sales are final. No refunds for pre-sale tickets. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CAN ATTEND THE EVENT. Identification will be required and the name on the ticket must match the name on the ID.

This is only for the early entry tickets tho. If an imbibe member bought a general admission ticket, it would be transferrable

From what my friends told me from last year was their biggest mistake was going to Goose Island first. There still was plenty by the end of the event whereas other breweries kegs were tapped.

Hmm, thanks. Bought it from a guy on this site so I guess I should reach back out to him, but I doubt I'll have any luck. With how easy it is to change the name on the ticket, I'm surprised they (especially if it's a volunteer) would care. I was planning/hoping to just go at the time with my friends who have GA tickets and scan the QR code and be fine.

Anyone have a contact for IMBIBE/FOBAB, would like to try to email to get a response on buying a ticket that turned out to be IMBIBE. Thanks

    Try Katie Long: [email protected]

Guessing that she is relatively out of pocket for the day due to setup, though.

Wait, so the terms of the ticket state you can't sell, trade or transfer and you are going to call to ask if that is okay? My two cents is just show up at the regular time and go....

Quick question for volunteers. I know there's a separate line for us during the session we attend, but is there a ticket we need to present?

November is all a blur to me with so many events. Remind me again, am I supposed to be lined up at LP Binny's today, the GI Barrel Warehouse or UIC Forum?

Haha, yeah, that's my plan. I'm an attorney though so I'm aware that fine terms mean shit, so was going to call and basically be like, this is fine, right? There's conflicting information on here, reddit, other forums about it working. One post said he called and they said he'd be good to go but they needed the new person's name.

    Ok all you Friday FOBABers,
What I'd like from you this evening, after you get home safely, is to draw up a detailed plan of all the whalezbro locations. You know, so it's easier for the Saturday attendees.
    Thanx in advance.

I wouldn't say it was a mistake to hit GI early as they did run out of some of the more sought after items, but you certainly don't need to make it a priority. For our group, it was almost like it gave us a couple minute break to talk and gather ourselves. And getting a pour of Prop '14 was certainly worth the effort.

There is literally so much good beer at this event that with a little effort, you can try almost everything. And if you happen to get shut out, try something else that you might really like. I think the only things I 'missed' last year were Veritas and BA Darkness. Otherwise, my cup runneth over with great beer.

Having the scans of the booklet certainly helped knowing what would be there, but it was still a bit of a hunt to find certain beers.

Now, it's time to continue the baked bean, sauerkraut and egg diet that I've been on for the last week.

I think I'm gonna propose to the mods that we get sub-forum under the 'Beer & Food' forum titled, 'Fart Talk'

Have we seen the tasting glasses yet? I hope they don't interfere with the clothes pin on my nose.

Seeing as this will be the first FOBAB for my wife and I, I like the GI strategy. We both get too excited and we will definitely be using the GI line to collect ourselves tonight.

    Cheers!

The important thing to remember is once you start drinking the BCBS stuff, everything else tastes like water.
