Sorry BAs, but I couldn't wait any longer. Have to start getting ready soon, for holiday picture later today--if all three kids have their eyes open for any one picture, I'll consider it a victory. I myself am awful in pictures, so I'm sure my face will ruin the bunch anyway.

Grabbed this one three weeks ago in Chicago--this might be the last of the checked bag bunch. Nice little oatmeal milk stout; weird metallic nose, but not too sweet and nice amount of coffee coming at you.

Let the clean up begin. House is completely trashed after 4 year olds bday party. Looks like a frat house today.

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! Already got all my normal errands done for the weekend, so it will be a day to relax for me.

Really nice this year as usual. Flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, cream, and lightly tart cherries. Bittersweet roast and lightly tart fruit finish. Creamy and lightly silky medium body; slight fruit acidity. The past couple years of this beer feel like they toned down the cherry juice or something. I remember liking it, but it being a bit medicinal at times; but it’s really delicious now.

Incredible again this year. Flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, cinnamon, vanilla, cream, nutmeg, chile pepper, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, and toasted brown bread. Light roast/spice bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; great creamy/silky mouthfeel with some light sticky/chalky roast/spice notes as well. Lightly drying. Zero pepper heat. Balance is pretty much perfect between spices and stout flavors. Glad I grabbed a full 6er, need to grab a couple more before they are gone. Good thing they seem to be on the shelf a lot longer this year, Stone must have made a lot more this time around.

Amazing as usual. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange peel, and pine hops; with some light honey/biscuity malt balance; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/grassy bitterness. Medium bodied, balanced grainy creaminess and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel; lightly resinous and never astringent. Increasingly drying finish. Super juicy stuff. Glad I grabbed more than 1 pack this year, but there is still some around on the shelf at some places.

Amazing old ale! Over 1.5 years old now, one of my all time favorites. Flavors of caramel, toffee, brown sugar, toasted brown bread, and light nutty/roast malts; with balanced raisin, plum, fig, date, apple, and cherry fruitiness; with a touch of herbal/spicy hops. Lightly bitter finish. Full-ish bodied; very creamy and lightly slick/sticky mouthfeel. There are still unlimited 4 packs around here of this vintage, don’t even think I’ve seen 2016 for that matter. This beer hits prime time right around 2+ years of age for me, and its getting right around there now. Love it!

Good morning BAs! Since I've got a cold, no new brews today, just old standbys, starting with this lovely sour:

Sweet caramel, fruity esters, and bourbon. A treat this fine Sunday morning. Thank you @Number1Framer.

I've been penning my notes, and hope to cross post today (I know I say that all the time...) on NBS. It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood...won't you be my neighbor? Lovely man and thought. Have a great Sunday, and Cheers!!

-the stew I'm making needed some depth. This Sunday Mole Stout is definitely not a cooking beer, but I donated a bit for the greater good nonetheless.
