Has there been a lot of it? Looking for something new and unique that I can buy a case of for an Advent beer exchange. Also any chance Death by Coconut will be coming back this year?

Is DC gonna see the new batch of Softly Spoken Magic Spells?

At this point it's not particularly clear what Singlecut beers we are and are not getting here, particularly in bottles. I sure hope it does show up though! So far we've gotten only Bon Bon and BA Heavy Boots in bottles, but some other stuff has shown up on draft like Billy Full Stack (and some other IPAs, I believe).

If I had known that, I would have driven to Richmond again! (twice within a week)

Fwiw, BA Ten Fidy is not driving-to-Richmond good.

    WOW! Really!?!

    Is the regular TenFidy better?

I certainly enjoy both beers, but given how prevalent bourbon barrel stouts are these days, BA Ten Fidy does nothing to stand out from the pack. To me it tasted like a poor man's BCBS. Don't get me wrong, I'd buy it if I saw it, but it's just not one I'd go out of my way for again.

good supply of wicked weed sours at Whole Foods P street. Collage is pretty much everywhere but cheapest at Calvert Woodley. Harris Teeter has madame rose for $21 and 16 counties for $15. Never seen madame rose that cheap.

Same thing has happened in Maryland. The core beers (Peeper, Mean Old Tom, Zoe, etc) used to be everywhere all the time. Now, I see maybe a couple bottles of one beer here and there. I don't know if they're adjusting distribution or had a brewery problem or something else.

That's par for the course when a craft brewery is distributed by one of the "majors" (in this case Premium, which sells all Miller/Coors, Heineken, PBR, etc... products in DC). Premium's management wouldn't dispute that 90% of their reps have never heard of WWS, and I know they still haven't even sold through the Sept. release of 120 Minute yet, so to Premium it probably doesn't make sense.
It's also possible that Dogfish Head chose not to send WWS to Premium for the same reasons...

SingleCut says their Heavy Boots/Lead/BA is "aged for one year in oak barrels, then infused with whiskey-infused maple syrup".
I tasted the distinct, rich "woody" oak flavor I associate w/ Innis & Gunn beers, and a 2012 J.W. Lee's Harvest Ale I had a few months ago, but I agree it's extremely light on the sweet/soft coconut flavors I associate w/ whiskey-BA beers. It's very different than whiskey-BA beers, but I thought the oak character was undeniable. Just my amateur opinion of course.

Staying on the amateur opinions track, I think the Jai Alai- and especially the White Oak Jai Alai- are fantastic! Wish we could get Cigar City in DC...

FWIW, DTC got Worldwide in yesterday if you want to make the drive into Moco. Also, Rodmans had at least a case of Michigan Maple last night for 10$ each.

It wouldn't surprise me if they retracted distribution some on Maine beers, just because of lack of consumer buying volume due to the high price (I see the pint bottles in the $7-$9 range and store shelf competition these days. Less is better IMO (better chance at freshness).

Their pricing is dumb, no idea how they compete with everyone else. And I fucking love MO.

I know MD pissed Stone off pretty bad because they had to buy back a ridiculous amount of product so may be the same situation with Maine.

Does anyone ever see Fantome bottles in the baltimore area in a bottleshop ever? I've only ever seen the Noel during Christmas and that's about it.

It's been a long time since I've seen any around here. Max's has some from time to time, but with a markup.
