My guess as well. It's a bit biscuity, but not caramel/toffee-like. I wondered if there might be oats or wheat in it, too.

For anyone concerned, there is still no loss in aromatics or flavor. I had to buy 2 more sixers just to keep pace for a Christmas/NYE going away party.

I actually found a Sucks sixer dated 10/18, a day after BY, and BY blows it away in every facet.

Sucks felt a tad sweet with a more streamlined lowkey citrus sweet bite. Nothing hoppy or really juicy about it.

If Sucks is a 4.10/5, BY is off the charts... I may need to rethink how I compare beers lol

Agreed... Still pungent and very delicious...

Had 2 bottles last night for the first time. Yep this lives up to the hype in this thread. Great flavors and aromas.

i noticed the same last year - held up incredibly well and agree that this year's is too. it's definitely evolving though but not in a bad way.

I am totally enjoying this year's wet hop offerings. Thank you, Lagunitas, Founders, and Fatheads, donated by a Buckeye brother in law. I have a fantasy of an Enjoy By 10/31/17 Wet Hopped Unfiltered DIPA, clocking in at 9+ ABV. Or a Sixpoint Wet Hop Puff. Are DIPAs feasible with wet hops? Anyway, it's been a very good year.

Lagunitas just shat on all those local "it" breweries we all know and love dearly by selling a SIX PACK of wet hopped, nigh-perfection for roughly $12. Fuck off with that $18 4-pack bullshit.

Also, I'm in the "better than last year's" camp. I enjoyed last years version but it was nowhere near as delicious as this batch IMO

I still have three bottles left but I should see if I can pick up another sixer someplace. This beer lives up to the hype, and for the price, can't be beat

Would be amazing if they could put this out year round at that level of quality. Would be my go to IPA to have in the fridge at all times.

this is probably my favorite wet hop this year as well. I was sorely disappointed by SNs N.Hemisphere. Hop Trip was juicy, but it didn't have the great dankness that i think wet hops offer and what makes them unique for the season. BY sits atop, followed by any order of Victory, Founder's, and Great Divide.

There are numerous fresh Hop Imperial IPAs made every year in the PNW. One of my absolute favorite fresh hop beers this year was Holy Mountain/Cloudburst's collab fresh hop DIPA called Wetwired.

I had somewhere around 35-40 Fresh Hop beers this year, need to go back and look at my list to see how many were DIPAs. Off the top of my head I can tell you that Crux's Mo Fresh is another example of the style. Powerhouse also did a FH version of their No Fruit Was Harmed NE DIPA. Bale Breaker's Piled High Imperial FH is another. Fatheads' Portland brewery did one called Kinda Is.

Called around today in my hood and everyone is sold out...EXCEPT a little C-store that has come to be known for its beer selection. Four cases left, and I bought one, and I'm feeling less satisfaction with my haul than I am indecision about whether or not to go back and scoop up the rest of it.

I'm a sixer a week kind of guy, and I'm wondering how this stuff will hold up over the next 90 or so days, because it's so damn good I can't see myself drinking anything else. Any suggestions?

I bet it holds up well if kept cold....It is an amazing beer hard to say how it holds up if kept at room temperature, I would bet by 90 days it would fall off a bit but its so damn good now I bet it would be atleast darn good then ....I ended up picking up a case total...Cleaned out the last shop that had some....Well worth it....I would atleast go get another case....

FWIW I had a bottle of this beer earlier this evening. It was bottled on 10/17 so it is basically a month old now. The best that I can report is that this beer was kept cold as long as I owned it. It was an enjoyable beer to drink but it has definitely 'evolved' over the past week or so. There is more of a pungent flavor to the beer; reminiscent of an onion-like flavor, which was not there a couple of weeks ago. I have no genuine way of predicting how this beer will taste in 90 days but I can assure you that I will have consumed all of my beer before that timeframe and I will personally not be buying anymore of these beers.

    Cheers!

    I agree with @JackHorzempa
    The evolution has begun

I had a few bottles last year around christmas time and they were "acceptable". By March, I had had another couple bottles and the fresh essence was gone. They were almost drain pours.

I say, get your last couple of drinks in by mid December and do not wait any longer.

End of 2016 is my only guarantee. Do not go any further .

I'm drinking one right now and I have to say there is a perceptible difference in the last two weeks. I'm glad it's my last one; I want to remember Born Yesterday as a superb beer.

Jus cracked one of my last ones today, and it has definitely changed noticeably from the first one I had four days after bottling - how couldn't it? That being said, it still tastes amazing. Not as in your face as when it was younger, but I'd expect it to still be going strong for another couple of weeks.

So excited. BY's just reappeared in my favorite store today, after being missing in nearly every store in the city/county for last 2+ weeks. Guess the distributor was holding back some inventory or something.

Had one tonight and still tasted delicious. I've got some relatively fresh Sucks I've been drinking the last week and BY blows it out of the water.

I do agree with @JackHorzempa as well...I did notice a slight onion flavor that I didn't pick up 3 weeks ago when I last had it.
