Honestly man, I've lived here all my life, and I didn't know it until someone else on BA mentioned it.

I'd like to go to this to get a taste on tap as well as get some Hoppy Days, but with Juice Pants on Tuesday, BCBS on tap on Wednesday and then waiting for BCBS bottles on Friday...not sure what I'll be able to pull off.

Sorry if I missed it, but has Maplewood said what the hop bill is on this Juice Pants?

Trying to figure out what the heck you guys are talking about, I went to Hop Butchers website and saw a new NE IPA on there. Mellotron, a DIPA. They last brewed it tomorrow

Beer Cellar had a lot of Galaxy Bowl left around lunch time. The owner said they got 30 cases. The line was practically out the door when I got there at 12:30. He didn't say there was a limit but everyone was buying two 4-packs. They also had the Hop Butcher glassware.

    1) Well shit.

    2) I'm not super familiar with Azacca hops; does anyone else have thoughts on 'em?
(per Hop Butcher it's "pine, mangos and orchard fruit.")

Also, @Chuckdiesel24, this is the reference:

Any Chicago Binny's sightings of Galaxy Bowl yet?

You know this! They have to release it before it is made otherwise the hops drop out.

Maplewood has an Azacca IPA that's year round. Pretty good, piney-citrus combo if I'm remembering right.

    EDIT: Not a NEIPA

Damn. I was planning on stopping by the Beer Cellar this weekend. No Galaxy Bowl...oh well. Still want to see the new place!

Side note: they had Firestone Walker Agrestic when I went yesterday.

    Sorry, very off-topic.

Since I've moved out to Denver from Chicago Superfan has been a staple in my fridge since they started canning it. Odd 13 is definitely in the top 3 breweries out here that are putting out the best IPAs right now. Most of their hoppy beers are on the same level as Juicy and some of the other hazy NE style IPAs that are flooding the Chicago market.

My first ever GB today...this statement is amazing to me. Literally tasted like straight pineapple juice. Glad I grabbed some today. Will buy again if I come across it, but won't be on the chase again...unless, of course, an RTP wants some, and then... :-)

Understandable. Again, could have been mood based....and I still thought it was fruity & delicious, just less so.

Hopefully tomorrow after I crack a couple I'm singing a different tune...

Yesterday I had a Pale Afternoon from Corridor & Provisions (on Southport). It's a NE Style Pale Ale, and it was pretty decent. Nose was definitely of the style, but I wouldn't call the taste juicy. A nice drink considering it was only 5% as well. If I was there again, I'd get it, but I wouldn't seek it out.
