Is the current tap list on the website accurate for the tasting room? There is virtually no BBA stuff :slight_frown: I'm going tomorrow for my bday.

I would love to hear why Humulus is going away. Very disappointed in this news since it was always a great option when you didn't want to drink a sour or the latest 20% stout with candy. I know it was an employee favorite also.

Nevermind, they updated the website. Was all hoppy and sour stuff for like an hour today, then the bba stuff was added back.

Poured a glass of WC and dropped a few peppermint candy shards in and let it sit for an hour. I like it. The balance would be tricky, but do this with WM? Anyone for peppermint mocha for the holidays?

I agree. Even if they secretly had a bunch of new, tasty "IPL's" up their sleeves, Humulus Lager would still outsell many less tasty brews that are on their board every day. From a business perspective, you'd think they'd always kill the lowest sellers, not established sought-after beers. I could easily wrap my head around them killing Smoking Wood, but not this.

Killing Smoking Wood killed a part of my heart.

Smoking Wood was a very polarizing beer. Many of us really liked it.

Back in September I had the good fortune of picking up a bottle of Smoky & The Bois in the fulfillment center. A blend of two beers that pulled me into the Bruery societies. The brilliance of Smoking Wood still came through.

I think the Mole Smoking Wood was better than Freckle. I haven't picked up my Share This Mole so I can't comment on this yet.

Lagering is typically a slower process (less revenue generated/turnover) and in general more difficult which is why not many places do it as a mainstay. I really appreciated running into a fresh batch of Humulus, sad to see it go.

If they replace with a monthly/quarterly 4pk of hoppy cans all would be forgiven, but I have a feeling that wouldn't sit well with the design team.

If they're going to replace it, replace it with something like Humulus Rye, which was to die for! As a die hard Bruery fan, I'm disappointed in this decision. But I love their BBA beers and Sours, so at least there's still that. But it's nice to have a good hoppy beer to balance it out, and Humulus was perfect for that! I just hope the day doesn't come where they retire Black Tuesday, LOL!

Would you like a hazelnut flavored tampon with that? jk

they're cooking up new hoppy beers on the pilot system all the time so although Humulus was a fav it was taking away from their ability to promote creativity. Both palate cleansers at the BT release were fantastic.

Agreed, the Bois treatment was absolutely incredible. I lucked out and got a growler of Blueberry Smoking Wood last year, that was like drinking magic. I know a lot of people didn't take to it, but I definitely carried the torch for that series for a damn long time.

They need to make room for more blends of BA old ales, naturally.

I'll actually be heading back home at the same time, I'll make sure and post on here when I'm in the tasting room to allow some HS goodness.

I opened a 2016 BT tonight and got a gusher. It was at cellar temp. It tasted fine. Anyone else had a similar experience?
