Ctayt, as far as I know it, is NOT an annual release. They put a lot of barrel time into it. I believe they use a combination of first-use and 2nd-use barrels- which is fine. I feel like you get more oak than bourbon in the flavor. If anyone has more accurate information I'd love to hear it. Ctayt took gold at 2015 GABF in the barrel and wood-aged beer category.

I had Ctayt Batch #1 and thought it was superb. I had Batch #3 this past year and thought it was really good. But, not $23/bottle good. I hold out until Grapevine does a sale.

Really really liking baptista. Amazing flavor profile.

Agreed. Had it at the taproom a few nights ago and thought it was outstanding. However, you definitely have to like cinnamon in your beers because to me that was the predominant flavor by far. Definitely got some hints of whiskey and the mexican coffee they used. Just the right amount of heat with a medium body to it. Very impressed.

Scooped a Double Barrel Baptist today- it will be drank early on Thanksgiving... I'll be sure to report back, but am wondering what the consensus has been so far?

I wish I had grabbed another bottle. I only tried a sample at the brewery and loved it. The Baptista was respectable and I liked it, but the DB I found to be great.
I need more. Thanks for convincing me to stock up.

Interesting I was thinking it had just the right amount of cinnamon. To me it was just enough that it was in the background but not front and center. I got a bottle vs draft.

Also I stopped by little's today and they had a few DB baptists left. No more baptistas unfortunately I was told.

I had the opposite. Had it on draft so far but haven't cracked a bottle yet. I'm hoping the cinnamon profile in the bottle is exactly like you described. Would rather not have it be the front and center ingredient but either way, it was still very good on tap.

Grabbed two bottles myself. $13 for a ba stout seems to be a steal these days.

I realize it's fairly inconsequential, but how would you guys compare Baptista to BAMA? I haven't opened my bottle yet and I am just curious. The BAMA I opened a few nights ago was a cinnamon bomb! Super delicious, but definitely not for the faint of cinnamon heart.

I haven't had either but most people I have talked to preferred Baptista to DB by a pretty wide margin. They are saying DB is too hot. I am planning on sitting on a couple bottles for a while in hopes that it mellows

They still had a few bottles of baptista at Molly's in lakeside when I was there today. All out of double barrel though.

Is it a typo, or is there no regular 2016 Saint Nicol? It looks like all draft and only variants... but bottles of 2015 available.

Drank the last of my Copper Kettle Snowed In and George Dickel Snowed In. Still tastes great with a year on them, but I wouldn't age them any longer.
2016 is released on Wednesday, I'm looking forward to it.
BCBS sounds like such a pain in the ass this year, I think I'll focus on locals instead. I'll grab BCBS if I find it, but I'm not going to kill myself.

I'm glad you posted this. I have 1 '15 Snowed In left and wondering how it was tasting now. Looks like I'll have to drink that this week. As far as BCBS goes, there was a lot less distributed across the country this year. I saw my local stores stockpile over the weekend and it was significantly smaller than last year. Wondering how the crowds are going to be this year considering there's no crazy variants this year and the infection issues of last year.

Hazel's in Boulder had at least a case of each this morning.
