A cold rainy day, with the threat of some changeover to snow later today.
A good day to see a movie

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! Looking to be a pretty cold day. Might have to wear a heavy coat for the first time in a while. I have a bit of engineering work to do at home today. My manager wants a few things done before tomorrow, but it shouldn’t take more than an hour or two for me to finish it.

My top favorite pale ale since BP entered the state. Finally found some fresher can packs recently. Need to buy more soon. Flavors of big pineapple, peach, tangerine, grapefruit, mango, melon, passion fruit, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate toasted bread/light caramel malt; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/herbal/spicy bitterness; very smooth, crisp, moderately sticky, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel. Increasingly drying, but never astringent. Fantastic bright Mosaic/Calypso hop complexity. I love this stuff so much. So drinkable.

Awesome as usual. Flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, and pine hops; with some caramel, toasted bread malt sweetness; and floral/grassy hops earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel bitter finish. Medium bodied; balanced hop stickiness and grainy malt creaminess. Lightly resinous and increasingly drying, but never astringent. Very juicy and fresh on hop flavors. Love it every year. Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook classic hop team.

Amazing fresh batch this year! Flavors of big cinnamon, mint, nutmeg, ginger, clove, vanilla, coffee, cream, and pepper spice; with balanced milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted dark bread malt sweetness; with some herbal/spice earthiness. Light-moderate herbal spice/roast bitterness; bittersweet balanced finish, with a fantastic creamy/silky medium-full body mouthfeel. Some slight sticky/chalky notes from the spice and roast malts. Touch of dryness. Very smooth sipping with a small lingering warmth of alcohol and pepper heat. Super rich and decadent. Perfect balance of spices and stout flavors. Definitely going to stock up on a ton of this like I did last year. Absolutely incredible!

Avery is retiring the Demons and Dictators next year(except for Maharaja, which will be in cans); so I figured I’d revisit this review. This was really outstanding! Fantastic head retention and dense lacing on the glass. Flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, toffee, molasses, toasted dark bread, vanilla, and nutty malts; with lighter underlying notes of coffee, licorice, raisin, fig, dates, and charred grains; with some herbal/spicy hop character. Bittersweet balanced roast and earthy/spicy hop finish. Medium-full bodied; very creamy and lightly slick/silky in the mouthfeel; with a touch of chalky roast and dryness. Minimal warming alcohol. Wow, really loved this. It’s not quite as roasty or dense as most other RIS; but this has awesome malt complexity in combination with fruity yeast ester and earthy hop components. Glad these will sit on the shelf for a while. Will definitely pick more up. This was the 2015 batch, bottled around 11 months ago.

Good morning, BAs! Took my time getting to beer today, but after coming up with this cheddar and andouille sausage omelet (plus sour cream and salsa), a beer pairing just seemed .... right.

According to my measurements, we had about 3 beans worth of snow last night. Seems to be a distinct baking spice in this version.
