Or, with typical taxes & insurance figured in, a payment on a $140,000.00 house.

I don't know a number. I do know that it's less than I'd like it to be.

So far this year $481.77. October, November, and December are typically spendy beer months so the the number will rise substantially before year end.

My guess would be somewhere around $3,000. I'd say about $50/week on average and then there's the massive Etre orders once or twice a year. Thank god my girlfriend doesn't see this.

One could also look at the lemonade side of things (as opposed to the lemon).....

If folks like us were not spending this money on craft beer, these brewers would cease to make a profit, close shop, and we would all be members of the BMC Advocate site talking about how crappy Corona and Heineken are!

I have to say right at 2,500... That's doesn't include home brewing and equipment each year.. That'd probably be at 3500 then.

Or the craft beer market share could increase to 20% from 5% (by volume) and they would need less from each individual buyer.

Too many choices above for answers to this poll:
    The choices should read:

    a. Not enough
    b. Too Much

According to my wife. Way too much.

    Need more beer.

    Cheers!

    Yes!

If...the craft brewers charged us more.....using the increased revenue to start multi-million dollar ad campaigns in order to attract Joe BMC Sixpack.....then they could garner a larger market share.....jump from 5% to 20% and thus reduce costs to us!

But.....if the increased cost to the pioneer craft beer drinker caused them to abandon craft in favor of the $ 13.00 case of MGD.....then the craft brewer would have to attract an even larger market share to replace the attrition, thus prolonging any price reductions. And after gaining a 20% market share.....what business model suggests dropping prices dramatically is a good idea. Because....if you have gained a 15% dramatic increase, it suggests a LOT of folks like your product and think is is fairly priced.

Hmmmm. The trials and tribulations of increasing ones market share from 5% to 20% to make their product less expensive in the end!

I spend less on beer than i do on my Daughter's day car ($325 per week). This alone tells me I have my priorities straight.

I've vowed to myself that I'd never sit down and make the calculations. The repercussions could be catastrophic.
