RE: 2010 Vanilla and King Henry. I've had both (for the first time) in the past 6 month and both were incredible. That's probably why people still trade for them: they taste good.

Yeah, but your passing up the free mini-breakfast burrito if you're one of the first 500 people in line at LP Binnys...

I'm still on the fence whether to go to LP or just try random suburb stores, I've been lucky in previous years, remember last year I was able to get BCBS at some random small store Christmas morning.

I honestly probably won't bother getting to LP until like 8AM, as it sounds like I'd still get something from reading this thread, not sure it is worth the hour drive.

I already have Prop 16 and Rare, really just want the regular and coffee.

And now it adds a whole different wrinkle of questions...how much will they have...what time do you have to get there? So much fun.

Right, and what do you want? The Rare from Jewel or the VR or Prop14 from Binnys? So much intrigue. Who else has some good posted release spots?

The BCS thread this year reminds me of a junior version of the yearly Dark Lord thread; every few pages there's new drama. Just recently we've had:

    • Proper manners for bringing mules
    • Prop '16 sucks so cancel Black Friday
    • Will Prop '16 sucking affect the line at LP Binny's?
    • Prop '16 is actually great, line up at Binny's now
    • LP Binny's has old variants, how many mules should I bring for maximum 2014 Propage?
    • Old vintages of BCS will be awful
    • Old vintages of BCS will be awesome
    • I hate old wine
    • Old wine rules
    • Screw Binny's I'm lining up at a grocery store

    What's next?

While I agree with the general sentiment of your post.
Can I just get tagged in a post like this every 2-3 pages of comments lol. Would save so much time.

I was starting to lean towards giving in and going to LP, now I'm not sure. With the staggered openings, I can try Jewel, Binny's and a local place, none of which are more than a mile away. I could be done by 10:30!

More certainty at LP would be nice, especially since people have decided that Prop doesn't suck. I would be taking the L and walking though, which is an hour each way.

I may just drive past my local places Thanksgiving night and see how many shitlords are in line already before deciding.

What I like about the Jewel option (depending on location) is that you can have the opportunity to wait inside the store until the liquor department opens.

Jewel is tempting but LP Binny's has never let me down, even last year showing up "late" and getting everything. I'll be going for the sure thing.

At some point, maybe some rumors of 2016 infection?

Sounds like the best bet would be to camp Jewel, get your Rare+ allocation at 7am, then jump in line at Binnys and get guaranteed your 2nd allocation....

My experience with Jewel is that it's pretty easy to get Reg and BW, but they typically have very few other variants, so you need to be near the front of the line. Who knows though, maybe they received a larger distribution this year.

To me, these are the pros and cons:

    Jewel:

PRO: Potential to get Rare (seriously guys, don't bring mules to this. Not cool), free snifter if you're early, ability to go from there to other places that open later

CON: Have to get up earlier, undoubtedly have much smaller allotments, more likely to be tomfoolery (Jewel employees are not going to give a shit about those "losers" outside complaining that people are line-jumping or whatever)

    Binny's:

PRO: Largest allotment (probably by far), guaranteed vintage bottle purchase if you get a ticket, more fun in line, dudes in the beginning of the line will probably be drunk/sharing beer (despite it being a no-no), later start time (if you're lazy like me)

CON: No Rare (at least announced, although that's odd, if Jewel is getting it), bigger crowd, later start time (if you're not lazy)

Isn't that what Black Gold is? A blend of a couple years? It's a phenomenal beer

One might say that watching fat people fight over foolishness is one of america's pastimes.
