    Same story since 2013....

Got as much as I wanted in 2012 and prior years. After that it was a race. Purchased several bottles of "regular" today, good enough for me. They will all be consumed by the end of winter (if we ever have one).

Pro tip: There is ALWAYS new beer coming out. Keep cellaring beer and eventually you'll have so much you can't possibly drink it all without severe health consequences.

    What he said.

    Plus...

How many of us, while champing at the bit to get Bourbon County, totally ignored Founders Breakfast Stout, that was just sitting there? FBS sits at #26 of the BA Top 250, whereas Bourbon County Regular is at #51 (to be fair, Coffee sits at #23, but that's about the same as FBS).

Ah, but there's that Supply and Demand thing showing itself again...I suspect had FBS been released today, in very limited quantities, and Bourbon County was just sitting there in ample supply, the roles would have been reversed.

Full confession; I ignored FBS today. I have 2016 FBS in my fridge; I didn't have Bourbon County.

    Supply and Demand...again...

Well, we can all be thankful for Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Stout. May not be quite as good as BCBS, but close enough. Plus, it's cheaper and very easy to get. There had to be 20 cases sitting at Casanova yesterday.

Could be that some people don't drink according to rankings? Crazy thought, I know.

Good point, and well taken. However, FBS is good enough to get that ranking, and people walked right past it. How many beers in BA's Top 26 do you think craft beer consumers going to walk past?

I believe it comes down to how many are available. I suspect if there's regularly an end-cap full with cases of Pliny the Elder at your local TW, many would walk past it. If there was just 3 on the shelf, most would dive on it.

Also, note @jera1350's post about cases of Central Waters BBS at Casanova. I was there Wednesday and most walked walk right past them (I didn't; I drove there to get it, because I do not see those types of quantities in my area).

I wish Goose Island would release more Bourbon County...but the reverse seemed to happen this year... :-(

Incorrect. There are certainly hoarders out there, but my cellar has been pretty stable, in terms of number of bottles, for 5-6 years. Because we drink them.

And IMHO, BCS is among the top cellaring beers in the world. I had a 2012 on New Year's Eve last year that was quite possibly among the best five beers I've ever had. That said, I totally agree with drinking BCS. I'm going to consume mine within the next couple of months too. I'll enjoy them, but I don't trust they're going to last for years like the old bottles do/did.

Founders KBS is ranked 26th...this is different from FBS that is ranked 75th. This is not to say FBS isn't awesome, because it is. However, people walk past FBS sometimes because they can get it easily (or have already have/had lots of it). You can get BCBS only one day a year, at least around here. Solution to problem: Need more BCBS available

FWIW: When Founders KBS gets released, people clamor for that too.

    Yep. I blew that one.

Shouldn't have pounded those 6 cans of Rum King last night...

I'm sitting on 9 bottles of 2015 Goose Island Bile. The 3 bottles I opened were absolutely horrible and I can't get a refund as it turns out they had a limited return window. $180 down the drain. I will never buy a Goose Island product again.

I'm guessing a couple vintages of Bigfoot and one bottle of 2015 Rum King based on the last cellar sale there.

It is crazy how little MN gets of BCBS. I head out to San Jose a handful of times per year for work and the liquor store I visit there always has BCBS with no limit year round. Too bad this past year everything I got ended up going bad.
