Hop Studio: Vanilla Porter on cask with a spot of breakfast.

Plans for today include nothing more than watching a few movies and drinking some more beers!

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! Sad to see the holiday weekend has flown by already, but it was a nice few days off. Glad I could see my family again for the first time in a while. Time to get back to the old routine tomorrow. Getting back to the new beer reviews later on in NBS as well.

My go-to English styled American porter. Flavors of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, and light coffee/nuttiness; with restrained plum/apple English yeast fruitiness and light-moderate herbal hops. Balanced herbal/roast bitter finish; with an awesome creamy/silky mouthfeel. An all around incredible beer every single time. Very rich and complex for the low ABV.

Amazing as usual, still tasting delicious after 2 months. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange peel, and pine hops; with some light honey/biscuity malt balance; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/grassy bitterness. Medium bodied, balanced grainy creaminess and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel; lightly resinous and never astringent. Increasingly drying finish. Super juicy stuff. Glad I grabbed multiple packs this year. Still have a couple left.

Always world class RIS. Flavors of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toffee, biscuit, toasted dark bread, and smoke/char malts; with moderate herbal/piney hops; and lighter notes of raisin/plum yeast fruitiness. Moderate herbal/spicy hop and roast/char bitterness; creamy/silky full bodied finish, with some moderate sticky/chalky notes in the mouthfeel from roast malt and hops. Light-moderate roast/char dryness. Extremely smooth sipping with mildly warming ABV. One of the best priced and easily available RIS of all time. I love it best with some age to kill off some hop presence. 6 months old on this bottle, but I think 1 year+ is when it starts getting extra amazing.

Tasting insane right now! Flavors of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, molasses, toasted dark bread, licorice, raisin, tobacco, leather, and light smoke/charred malt; with some light herbal/piney hops. Bittersweet roast balanced finish; amazing creamy/silky/slick and lush dense full body. Slight roasted dryness. I keep ended up finding more of these on the shelf, so I still have a handful left. I can only hope they bring this beer back in one form or another. This does have a lot of similarities to Expedition in flavors; but it has more of a sweeter and less drying roast/char finish. Lightly warming finish, but very smooth. Getting even more intense on the licorice/dark fruit complexity after 15 months since release.

    Cheers

Party like it's 1499 (WBAYDN 1499, that is). Sorry I didn't get to participate in Turkey Day. After a Darkness, I'm done with beer for a few hours. Besides, my Turkey would only have been a very unoriginal Miller Lite. Anyways, time for a little Sunday morning comfort beverage. Cheers all!

Thanksgiving detritus cleaned up, Christmas tree raised and (minimal) decoration out--as well as the infamous EOTS (Elf on the Shelf). Is there an elf-centric day for dads/moms to post annoying pics of EOTS with beer or is it open season to pepper them throughout WBAYDN threads until the 26th?

Little chill music this AM. Cheers all.

Good morning, BAs! I'm going with a popular choice for this time of day (although I'm cheating the label a little; I'm having this with breakfast, not for breakfast).

Thoughts over on New Beer Sunday.

Quite good. Although my omelet was an aesthetic disaster, I assure you it's quite delicious. :grinning:

    Cheers, BAs!

Drinking Lagunitas Sucks. The twelve pack these came from
had the Santa Sucks logo so I was expecting that logo to be
    on the bottles. Sucks

Hoping to get some more hiking in today, but the rain and snow my hault our plans. If so, might check out a local brewery and other pubs if possible. Cheers!

(with dinner last night in S.Fe, Bosque IPA, Boxing Bear IPA, both out of Albuquerque -- and another interesting side-note can of YoHo Brewing, this time the Tokyo Black Porter [really interesting - more an impression of oyster stout on this]. Again, sorry for the late report, but fun to just hang out and not be digitally distracted while drinking. Cheers all!)

My biggest problem with Sunday is Monday... know what I'm sayin'?

That aside, plenty o' football and beer on deck, starting with something new that isn't an imperial stout, Space Juice, being consumed and pending review ( @ NBS)...
