    My contribution:

For anyone still hunting or hoping, stay home and save your time. Wow what a disappointment. This year's is bordering on actually bad. Not just below where it should be. Tart and unbalanced. Tastes like they pasteurized it after infection started a bit.

I would put money on it not having a pH below 4.0. No way do they screw it up two years in a row.

Oh my agree to disagree on it not being good this year! Had it on tap last night I thought it was really my favorite year I have tasted so far. 2016 seems more balanced and smooth for sure over last years. If you want the straight punch your face bourbon then yes I do think that is muted but I actually enjoyed this made it more drinkable to me.

Different strokes and whatnot. Had 14-16 vertical on tap tonight. Three of us each got a vertical and independently decided to leave 2016. Left about half the pour each. Tart metallic flavors, almost pumpkin pie spice (allspice? nutmeg?) overpowering, and some booze. This was at a good bar and the other two were spectacular, so I do not believe it was an issue of lines being dirty.

If anyone wants to get rid of their 'sour pumpkin' 2016s I'll gladly take them off your hands. You guys are funny.

It's not very good. I'll try a bottle and hope it's better or I'll definitely be unloading what I have.

After having the '15 & '16 side by side on-tap today. I preferred the '15. Maybe the year of age had an impact. Nothing wrong with either one.

I opened my first (of many) bottles last night and really enjoyed. It is definitely much different compared to the 2012/13 era, but still way better than most beers you can find for $10 around MN.

Dude, I'm not trying to start an e-fight on BA, but you're dead ass wrong. I just opened a bottle tonight as you had me worried - it's spectacular this year. There may be some psychological warfare here as everyone is pissed at GI after last year (myself included -- as I weep over my massive amount of infected beer I can't return); but I'm sorry, that shouldn't impact actual taste of a beer and this is really really good. My wife loves BCBS and really likes this year but commented it could do well with a little time; but didn't notice any "off" flavors and certainly nothing like posted above. So not really to each their own, I think if we're implying a beer is infected -- then test it and majority speaks. You just don't like it for whatever reason.

I remember having one of the best beers of my life (and I've had a LOT of 4.75 beer that I've loved; https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/32319/99992/) and then watching a tasting group slaughter it because they convinced themselves their bottle was infected (then Cory did all this molecular testing and confirmed that nope, nothing was infected) -- this beer would be rated through the roof if it hadn't been for these guys convincing themselves that something was wrong (maybe a lone bad bottle). But regardless, you had a pour that you didn't like. Open some bottles and come back. And shake your anger at GI for the bad year last year (and candidly a REALLY BAD year this year on awful distro w no variants), but BCBS this year is damn good. #fact

Had 2016 Regular and 2015 Rare side by side, the 2016 Regular was better. I will be backing up the truck anytime I see it in the $10-12 range. Just hoping for a second round in December like last year.

Who knows, maybe he had a bad poor and the bar mixed things up. Sounds like a few issues at SW on Friday. Maybe a better approach would have been to ask if anyone else noticed something off in the beer vs. going off the deep end stating as fact that the beer is shit.

Correct. Because this isn't an "opinion / taste" issue, BCBS is a beer with a decade+ track record. It's not even remotely bad. At all.

Folks get on high horses on here all the time. Figured I'd try it out. I do love how when you disparage a much-loved beer, the "experts" come out of the woodwork . I already stated it was out on tap (not out of the bottle) and that I would try one from the bottle. It is inherently an opinion issue. You can't Trump it up in here and decide something is a fact when it is in opinion. That is the crux of this hobby: personal taste and opinions. What I tasted made me bummed that I chased it. It wasn't good. #fact.

2016 BCBS tastes excellent right now. Tried it on tap Friday and had a bottle Saturday. No issues whatsoever.

I believe people WANT issues with annual beer releases. Without issues there would be nothing to complain about right?

Don't forget your club stores. Not Twin Cities, but Rochester Costco had it for $7.99 limit 4. They got 7 cases she said. I just picked up 4 of the last 8.

Chan Haskell's got their bottles around 10:00 am Friday. The 25 people waiting for the store to open before 9:00 got nothing unless they came back around 10:00. Haskell's only got 12 bottles of regular and 6 each of coffee & BW.
