Nope, not just you. This is my favorite local, readily available and cheap stout. Under the radar as far as I'm concerned.

Hoping Grand Father Raven makes it to AK. Black Raven started distribution up here this summer and we seem to get their full lineup. GR/GGR have been up here for the Great Alaskan Beer and Barleywine fest a few times.

New batch of Berserker is out and is very nice. B3 of Darkest Hour before the end of the year as well as B2 of Time Waits for No One.

Not sure I've seen this posted anywhere yet but:

    http://seattlebeernews.com/2016/11/...spotlight-at-brouwers-bigwood-fest-beer-list/

Looks to be some fantastic stuff on tap. Particularly excited to try some of these:

Alesong Rhino Suit Bourbon Bbl-Aged Milk Stout
Fort George “The Wieght” Barrel Aged Scotch
Lucky Envelope Westland Sherrywood Imp Porter
Mazama El Duque de Porto Spiced Strong Ale Aged in Port Bbl

Might also be a good chance to try Reuben's '16 BA Imp Stout. I'm heading there on Friday, but not sure bottles will last that long.

I don't know much about Dick's beers. Gotta fix that. Why did Dick die? Their web page has his bio & says when but not how.

    Too much life.

Buddy did not waste a moment, as far as I ever heard. Dude enjoyed life, and accomplished more, than the majority of us can hope to. He's a role model.

Just noticed we are the only regional forum without a BCBS thread on page 1. Admittedly, the Mountain forum thread is somebody asking why BCBS talk is so quiet, but as much as there is good beer around the country, I take this as a good sign. There's nothing wrong with the beer itself (I bought some), but I like that its a faint blip on the radar among the great local options.

Had BCBS even been mentioned in a single post in any NW forum thread today until you had to go and bring it up? Sheesh, you really are a d-bag.

I tried to do my part of not caring about The Beer That Must Not Be Named today by confining my purchases to the following: a couple bottles of B-Bomb from the UBG (of course), and a single bottle of (the gorgeously labeled) Figgy Pudding from Chuck's. I could not have been any prouder of this Black Friday "haul."

I also snagged a few Figgy Pudding's and BBomb's today; this year's BBomb is tasting quite fantastic, though I tend to find they hit their stride after a year in the cellar. Loved all three infusions this year, but the Coconut-Vanilla knocked it out of the park for me. Fantastic.

Ended up having a few pours of some pretty decent stuff around town. Skookum's Asesinato de Ceurvos was on at Chucks, which is "a blended stout with components of Murder of Crows, non-barrel aged solitary confinement and a small portion of whiskey barrel aged Murder of Crows. We then conditioned the beer on ancho and arbol chilis, vanilla beans, cinnamon sticks and cocoa nibs". I enjoyed it, but felt it was a little too all over the place and rather muddled. Big creamy body, lots of cinnamon (but no Abraxas), and a surprising amount of heat. Decently drinkable for the abv and buzz words, but didn't quite click with me.

Gigantic's Shazoo was also on tap at Chucks. An imperial milk stout, this is pretty much what you'd expect. Big lactose nose, dark chocolate, and roast on a silky body. Not bad.

Reuben's had their '15 BA Breakfast Stout tapped today so I was able to snag a pour of that along with the '16 BBIS. The BABS is pretty fantastic; if they could bottle this in 4 packs around town, this would easily be a Founders BS replacement. Delicious roast, chocolate, tinge of vanilla sweetness, and chewy. Unfortunately they sold out of BBIS bottles by Monday, even with the increased production, but I was content with just a pour. Loved it, of course.

That one sounded amazing to me. Wasn't in SEA this year for Thanksgiving so had to miss out. The Candy Cane one sounded...weird to me, though. I'm not convinced peppermint flavor would work well with B-Bomb. How did that one turn out?

As alluded to in other threads, all three infusions were pretty fantastic, but I'd rank them coconut vanilla > candy cane > pumpkin roast. The candy cane one was pretty fantastic to be honest, and while under a lesser hand peppermint can be overwhelming, Fremont wove it into the base beer with an impressive finesse. Base beer was front and center, but it midway through the palette the peppermint came through just enough to be noticeable, without muddling anything.

Saturday brings the release of Urban Family's Holy Matrimony and Reuben's BA Breakfast Stout. Looking forward to both!

I'm curious if the roasted pumpkin BBomb was similar to Pumpkin BBomb that was at Great Pumpkin Beer Festival a few years ago? I normally don't like pumpkin beer but thought that it was pretty awesome back then.

@drone any reason to think Holy Matrimony release will have a line before opening or a need to arrive by a particular time? I'm not familiar with their releases of just how popular they are locally.

Yeah, this. They don't have the hype train behind them just yet, so I don't expect any line whatsoever. The Muerte Al Ceral (along with three other saisons) release was incredibly chill.

I really like Urban Family, but I actually cannot remember a time when there were more than ten people there.

A good portion of the craft beer community in Seattle dislikes Urban Family due to past issues, so I'm not sure if the hype train will ever materialize.

Ive had 3-4 beers from them. They were enjoyable, but they fall into the "small bottle / high price" category for me and its way to hard to justify spending that. Crooked Stave and Trinity also suffer from this for me especially when i can get pFriem offerings for at least $3 less, or a 24oz of Upright for the same price as a 12oz of UF/Trinity/CS
