Other Half Brewing November 2016

All I ask is that someone ask what the next release will be since I'll be out of town for this one

 

Half of me wants people to confirm that the oh/monkish collab is worse than the trillium/monkish collab so that I don't have to stand in line for a beer before sunrise. But the other half wants it to be oh's best collab to date.

Either way, if you go tonight, please share.

 

there are already people on the facebook groups trying to get a feel for how high they can resell 4-packs so...yeah you're right

Ha as if they first people reviewing a beer on untappd will score it low anyway. If anything they'll overscore it to drive hype up.

 

But if it sucks would it be overpriced?

I had it last night and I must say it was really good. Really easy to drink for being a triple IPA! I am in town just for the week so I won't be around this weekend for the release unfortunately. I am glad I got to try it. I also tried the In Absentia Luci (non BA). One of the better non BA stouts I've had recently.

Selfish plug (I can remove if it's not allowed) - since I have to leave before the release, I would love to trade for a 4pk so I can have some more of it!

 

Would it be fair to say that it's the best beer you ever had, and a life-changing experience?

 

Every new beer I have is the best beer I've ever had. My life gets better after every beer.

I've had a lot of good beer the past month and this is just as good as most of them. So it didn't stand out in a phenomenal mind blowing way, but it also didn't stand out for being subpar either, if that makes sense.

 

Thanks for the report. Sounds mediocre and not worth selling my first born for. Should be safe to get there at 11 to avoid the line.

 

I assume it's quiet here because everyone ran to the taproom for the preview of the collab?

Is it just me or is Other Half doing more than a 4oz pour?

 

12 oz pour, like whoa is a couple of notches above this one for me.

More other half then monkish, cleans smooth bitterness, soft creamy mouthfeel. Dry finish. Subtle flavor of mango in it not as juicy as I would have imagined given the lup powder. Booze is pretty well hidden, doesn't feel as boozy as AGE. Not a bad beer by any means but not my favorite from OH

 

The beer is still about a week and a half old. Pretty sure it's gonna be considerably different in cans and in about another week. Having said that, I tried it last night and thought it was tasting great. Agree though, it is still very much an Other Half beer. I don't get any of that yeasty bubblegum taste that I get from some Monkish beers.
