Had a procedure done yesterday and doc said relax on the counch the next 2 days. it was music to my ears

Good early afternoon (Here in the EST zone) BAs! One of these mornings I won't have to be anywhere prior to 0800 and I'll beable to enjoy a breakfast beer again. But not today. My Beer For Lunch is:



Not bad, just not exceptionally desirable, a definite malt bomb. Seems more like a wee heavy to me.

 

A Haagsche Broeder Prior, an abbey beer from the city of The Hague.

I passed the sign in the second picture and out of curiosity picked up two beers in the monastery shop couple of weeks ago. Buying beer with a monastic logo is no guarantee for quality or good taste ofcourse. A customer before me bought 10 bottles, so I had a feeling this could be good. And indeed it is. Full of depth and flavor. Wow!

Thanks, man! Shouldn't be TOO bad as I am having a partial discectomy (lower left lumbar). Apparently the disc is compressing a nerve or two and that is the reason for all of the pain, tingling, numbness in my leg. This site and thread have been a very pleasant diversion from the pain! Drinking good beers always helps, too.

Left Vegas early this morning, flew to SLC where I am meeting the fam and heading out to SoCal! It's snowing here, have a couple hours to kill so I am hitting up Squatters Brewery in the airport. Having their UTX single hop pale ale 7 featuring Azacca hops. Huge citrus and tropical fruit with this one. Decent brew.
