I also got an email letting me know Huna day tickets were going on sale even though I'm not in el cat. I have, however, attempted to get in through the lottery the past couple tries. I assume they just send it to us lottery losers too since they have our email? I have no idea.

 

This is the public release of tickets. El Cat was last week.

 

OK, thanks for explaining. I guess they sent me the message since I got shut out in the lottery. Did not know El Cat did this last week since I don't follow closely since I am not part of El Cat.

Cigar City Sucks. True on '14 Huna Day, true in '17. I took a whole evening out of my life to be told I was following an "invalid link". And this is after they sent an email with that very link. The last 3 Huna days, I survived '14, tolerated '15, endured '16, and am shut out of '17. Wonder if I can get a lap dance instead.

 

The link says that the 8 and 12 bottle options are still available so unless you were thinking 4 or bust you haven't been shut out yet. Just trying to help in case those are options for you. I agree with you on the shit show and the frustration.

Seems like you would have bitched even if tickets had worked out. Either way, you were going to be pissed off, so nothing really changes here.

 

When i go to purchase a ticket, it asks me what other name do i want for a 2nd ticket. Am i reading it right that if i buy a $400 package, i get 12 bottles and 2 of us get to go onto the event and drink?

 

No, that's just a particularly stupid web form (shocker, right?). You have to option of purchasing a second ticket (also $400) and if you do you'd need to include a name for the ticket. That box really shouldn't show up if you've only purchased one ticket.

8 and 12 bottle tickets still available as of this morning. And if a colonoscopy only costs you $300, I'd be afraid of where that doctor and that scope had been.

I managed to get an 8 bottle ticket at midnight last night after several attempts. The recent Westbrook BA Cake release of tickets was equally frustrating. If there is a better way to handle these "events", I hope the breweries will find it...

 

What? That release was super-smooth and easy.

 

One system that really impressed me recently was the system used to buy Brand New / Modest Mouse tickets this past summer through the vendor Sound Rink. You go into a lobby (much like the Hunahpu sale yesterday) but the difference is you give them your e-mail address and when you are up to buy tickets, you are given a link to get in and buy from what is left. Similar to yesterday, you can also keep your browser open to see where you are in line and it gives you an indication of how long you have to wait until purchase. System worked flawlessly when I used it for what undoubtedly was a pretty heavy server load with all shows going on sale all at the same time.

 

Not for many. First, the "leak" of wrong ticket sale date and time occurred, and when the sale was announced, getting on the site was impossible and once on, one was either dropped or eventually advised it had sold out. Glad your experience went smoothly.

I attended on Saturday anyway and we had a great time drinking the variants offered. Love Westbrook; just questioning the manner in which highly sought after releases are handled.
