Will they ship it to me when I win? Paying $200 is one thing then driving 2.5 hours to pick it up, Uggh wife will shoot me if she finds out. "Hey honey going out for a little drive, see you in 5 hours or so"

No. 2.5 hours seems close considering how many are probably signing up in the twin cities area alone. Guessing they could sell out to people who have to drive 5 plus hours one way.

No..they have never and will never ship a lottery release to winners.

And most everyone will have over a 2.5 hour drive

Yeah flying may or may not be a deal breaker. Is this really on a Friday in mid-January? Great for locals but has me on the fence.

There is a plus....for those who have the following Monday off for MLK day it could be a nice long weekend retreat....hehe....but yea driving anywhere in Iowa in January can be a little treacherous with a little of the white stuff thrown in to the forecast.....

I just realized the 13th was a Friday too. I don't get that one at all :astonished:

That and online gambling is illegal in many states, Iowa for sure.

In fact raffles in general aren't allowed in this state, unless you get a gambling permit

Can't wait until somebody goes through the comment section of the TG post and tries to re-register everybody just to try to disqualify them.

Are they really requiring drivers license numbers? I guess it's better than a SSN but I don't know if I'd want to give them that, especially online

They said last night so they could match it up with the ID you show them when you pick up your bottles. I guess just another way to deter people from signing up more than once.

NYC Marathon just lost a class action lawsuit for having a lottery that required you to pay a fee. I think they could go to Iowa and get the proper license to do it, but just out of the blue it's likely illegal.

My only complaint is that it's on a Friday, that means if I'm "lucky" enough to be chosen I'll have to use a PTO day and spend $200 for 3 bottles of beer

Friday morning (likely 2 days off for many) is the only thing in this lottery that allows a small chance that most of the bottles will be sold to frequent customers instead of traveling whale hunters. I'm a big fan of that decision.

The $200 isn't bad if you split it with someone. You both get an assassin, a glass and a half pour of kbbs. Not horrible considering the bottles.

The price is getting up there, but they're going to sell out easily so I don't see it as a huge issue. Putting out 2000 bottles of Assassin is definitely going to lower the value, don't expect to sell a bottle for $800 bucks.

They are selling 1000 packages at $200. That's 200k. With the raw materials, labor and waiting 12+months, they're not getting rich off this release. They should make money while they can, in 10 years from now, the market may be much different.

I saw the price and couldn't believe how cheap it was. These beers combined are worth almost $3000 and people are complaining about paying $200? GI was selling Rare for $80 this year. Again if people can't afford the high price, please let me know and I will paypal you with interest

Anyone else hoping that The Beerman is making the boxes? That'd be pretty neat. And I'm not serious about it actually happening, but it would be cool to this guy.
