First time supply and demand graphs have made their way on BA? I like where this is headed.

I don't live in SD, but didn't think twice about getting one of these stainless growlers (they keep the beer incredibly cold for hours). These guys are relatively new, but they're on the right track. I predict in a year's time they will be regarded as one of SD's, if not the nation's, best. Then, all of these Alpine fanboys will have a new brewery to dedicate multiple simultaneous threads to.

I wonder if the SS growlers are double walled, having a temperature barrier in-between

All this talk has just made me want to go buy a Societe growler and fill it with The Pupil. Rinse, and repeat, over, and over, and over, and over again. Well done, Societe; well done.

yeah, though I was not wanting to collect any more growlers I may go get a SS growler and get a fill for this weekend.

too bad on it not being double walled. The claims of it keeping cooler is definitely in contradiction to physics. I still will probably get one. I do not visit Societe that often and usually pass on growlers in general, but it will at least make a kick ass water container.

They told me at the brewery that it would keep colder longer, so it has to be true.

I live in Orange County. Three weeks ago, I embarked on one of my semi-regular treks up to Alpine, where they told me that O'Briens would have the last available Double Nelson on cask the next night. So, of course, I slept in the Jeep overnight, and hit O'Briens the following night. A fine fella sitting next to me at the bar told me about Societe, right around the corner. So I made a quick trip there. The tasting room was awesome. And I'm a huge fan of bluegrass, so I definitely appreciated the ambiance. I bought a stainless growler, simply because I thought it was cool as hell. But what to fill it with???? I was disappointed that Everyman's DIPA wasn't available for fills (why?). It was damn tasty. So I chose Pupil over Apprentice- I just liked it better. And EVERYONE I showed the growler to thought it was gnarly. I'll stop by everytime I go to Alpine. (Just PLEASE offer Everyman's.)

I heard Everyman's was a "mistake" and they won't be making it again :/ Tyson @ O'briens told me that.

    That's unfortunate.
I have a brother who was a "mistake," but we all like him. Kinda.

I hope they keep the growlers and the prices as is. Mainly to spite all the whiny bitches on here complaining about stupid irrational shit. Societe uses premium growlers and treat the growler fills like a premium purchase. More breweries in San Diego (often charging more $$$ for fills!) should strive to treat the beer so well.

Was there yesterday with Krispy, had a great time. Some fantastic beers, I need to stop in more often. The SS growlers are awesome, pricy but hey, Don't be Cheap. You can always 1) learn to homebrew 2) buy a 40.

Went there today. Thought their IPAs were every bit as hoppy and fresh tasting as Alpine. Can't wait for when they produce and distribute bottles.

Well I'm not quite ready to compare them to Alpine (and they're probably not ready for that either), but they DO show oodles of potential. I'm optimistic for their future.

Yeah, their IPAs (particularly this batch of The Apprentice) are for sure tasty, but they're not Alpine level by any means.
