What beer are you drinking now? #1504

Haagsche Broeder Aquino from a local small scale abbey brewery.

Interesting layered taste; coffee, cherries, sourness. Young beer, most of these tastes stand out on their own, they don't mix. Not yet. This is a real great beer to put away for some years I think. Must be no problem with a relatively high percentage of alcohol.

Took a chance and got 2 singles a while ago. Holding up nicely at 5 months old.

At Cycle Brewing (wifi sucks so no photo). Every day this week they have had a different BBA Stout release (this evening will be Vanilla). Drinking now yesterday's release, a most excellently balanced Trademark Dispute (red label) Vanilla+chilies+cinnamon. Cheers!

I liked this one well enough to spring for the $30 a bottle...don't tell Mrs. Z...she is still questioning my sanity after buying a glass of BCBS at Tuesday's lunch!

I've been wanting to try this one for awhile. Got this one as a suprising extra. Nice twist on a great IPA!

 

Greetings gang! I think I've sufficiently recovered from whatever flu virus knocked me on my ass the past week? It's the price I had to pay for waiting too long to get vaccinated this year. After being irritable from a terrible fever for a couple of days, I decided to take some needed time away to heal, get some quality rest and turn off the beer chatter. I feel refreshed and perhaps it's something I'll focus more on in the coming new year?

I picked this up yesterday as I've been quite the fan of the Enjoy By product, especially the more recent unfiltered versions. This one definitely looks and tastes much different than the prior batches I've had. Super transparent and very spicy to the taste. I'm getting a lot of onion/garlic and a burning heat that I've never experienced before. Whatever this prototype business is, count me out in the future. I'm hoping this calms down by the Christmas date! I saw the thread on it, so I guess I'll read that next?
