The line is still moving at a snail's pace and continues to be around the corner of garnett.

There is no beer on earth I will ever wait 7 hours for. I waited an hour at Tree House once and even that was getting to my breaking point.

I totally get what everyone's complaining about, I truly do. I hate lines in general. But don't forget how much better OH has gotten with release days (being able to stroll in the afternoon). This release was just a beast of a release. No one should be surprised about people's wait time.

So, any more details about the next release?

    Yeah, I don't get it.

The cost of entry is/was clear. It was clear today's release was going to draw out a HUGE crowd. Monkish is brewing extremely popular IPA and we get so little of their beer at all. This was everybody's chance to see what Monkish is all about and OH brewed a double batch to appease the masses. Oh, and then all the stouts. Then line moved slowly, sure, but that also happens any time there are multiple bottles.

To those that want to casually get a 4 pack or two, go fill some growlers whenever. Is it the EXACT SAME and as convenient as drinking a can in a sitting, no, but it's relatively pretty damn convenient and their growler prices improved dramatically some time ago. Also Forever Ever is probably lasting to tomorrow.

It seems some want the quaint, local experience of rolling by their spot, where everybody knows your name..., grabbing some cans, and enjoying some taproom privacy but that hasn't been OH in a long time. Move on to Greenpoint, Interboro, KCBC, LIC, all of whom are making kickass beer that's much easier to obtain and create more of a private scene.

I think the big problem many have is that OH seems to purposely cater to the early morning, beer-trading, Untappd crowd. That's fine, but it results in complaints from those of us who wish that they didn't cater these releases towards guys from NJ buying 4+ cases of beer to be mailed away or resold. This is a discussion forum after all. If nobody complained, we'd just be the Tree House thread.

Also, they still haven't done anything to actually address the line issues (rampant cutting, litter and public drinking everywhere, etc.).

Can we all put aside today's shit show and take a second to celebrate the fact that they're canning Broccoli? Very underrated OH beer.

All true, I just didn't really have the energy to really elaborate. It really is shitty but OH has gotten better in places but there's always room for improvement. What really bothers me is the line cutting, we can address it ourselves but I don't go to releases to fight.

Got there at 8:30, out at 12:30. All in all it was a pretty awful release, I missed out on BA orbit and think they should cut limits at a certain point but it is what it is. Good to hear there are 14 more barrel aged beers in the coming week, and weekday releases!

I don't think anybody views these releases as perfect, even those arriving at 5 AM. I think the point is that the system is working for most of us and definitely for Other Half. It's my opinion that any of the proposed ideas, online tickets, weekday releases, etc might be more convenient for a few, but aren't an overall improvement on the system.

There are other options to appease those for whom it isn't working, obtaining OH via fills or switching to other local breweries.

This release was an outlier, most of the times the Other Half release work for both groups. People can wait in line and then other people can walk in at 11 and grab what they want with no wait. This was just a crazy one, 9 out 10 times they are not like this.

I personally did not go. I ending up going home to Jersey, but I was able to score 4 bottles of Mexican Brunch so i'm happy. And ill hit up the other breweries around town a bit later.

Quite frankly it would have to be zero line in order for me to even semi-regularly go to their releases. So I'm not looking for a fix.

But I do live in the area and I have a problem with must-have-em-all beer nerds drinking and then pissing on the streets.

7+ hours is in and out???

Plus is it really entitled to not want to wait 7 hours to buy a fucking beer? Sheesh! It's a beverage.
